Hey just have a question for those on the Feb 15th furlough at Mesaba. How many of you have or are in the process of getting other jobs and how many of you are going to wait it out and see how everything plays out?

Personally. I think I'm going to collect unemployment for a month or 2 and see if we find out anything by then. If not, I guess I'll have no choice but to go somewhere else.

Thanks in advance.

I'm going to wait it out awhile. I would hate to leave and watch things turn around in a few months. Besides, I don't really want to bounce from regional to regional for the next couple of years.

I'm waiting it out...there is a lot to be decided by the NWA negoatiations and our own procedings. If it looks like we'll be out for a year plus or the company isn't worth coming back too (the company proposed contract is in place) I'll have to look somewhere else. We should get an idea of what direction the company is going here in the next month or two...either growth or a 49 Saab airline. Keep your head up, guys!

well I am getting the groundwork in place to get a master's degree. If the shoot don't stop by the time summer (or maybe fall depending on financial aid issues) I'm off to a different better paying career.

Don't turn down an opportunity if it were to come up because you think XJ will turn itself around. Remember if the judge doesn't reject our contract, NWA can file another 1113(c) and draw the process out for years. Lets hope this doesn't happen, but I think XJ is going to be a bunch a saabs for a while.

YPF,
I think you've got this one wrong. XJ mngt have already got court dates to throw out our contracts (Feb 7th & 24th, I believe), they are not wasting time over here! Unfortunately for XJ mngt, ALPA is doing a pretty good job of making them look inept! Both NWA and XJ mngt are looking at each other and making this phase up as they go along (correction: NWA is making it up & telling XJ puppets what to do!). If XJ mngt gets enough out of us, either in or out of court, then NWA will turn up the heat on you guys! If they don't get enough out of us, they may force a strike and liquidate XJ...........What happens then???............Who cares!!
Either way, if you are presently furloughed, I and others from XJ will be joining you in that category very shortly! I will give it a few months, while I earn more than I get paid here! You, YPF may have lost hope of a recall, or you may have already moved on........good for you!

I changed industries and have an 8-5, and fly for fun on the weekends. It's not soo bad, I miss the people @ XJ. The capts. were some of the greatest group of guys and gals I have flown with. If they call back I would consider it.

If your still trolling the forum you are not ready to call it quits yet ;)

YPF,

The judge can rule against the 1113c motion "with prejudice" or "without prejudice". This language determines if NWA can file the motion again. I believe a "with prejudice" ruling means NWA would not be able to re-file the motion during this bankruptcy.

I'm definitely not a lawyer but I slept in a Holiday Inn Express last night. ;)

hey Your pilot friend...where do you get your info...? is it the same place i get mine....a friend knows a guy at NWA, who talks to his union rep a lot.........so rumor.....

i never totally beleive anyting til i see it...from company or union.....they both blow smoke because negotiations are secret and they canot give strategy away.....in other words, the company lies....the union just does not want to give away its cards .........

whats going on? i do not know, i just know, full pay til the last day.....then i get a job for more money outside this industry....or do i go to skywest......and start over? who knows...
