Does anyone know how the pay rate works for a returning furlough. Can you accumulate longevity while on furlough or do you return at your same pay.

Three, The are trying to get 150 FO's back because they are expecting 15 of 9E's crj 200's

I really don't think you are getting these planes. Just my impression. We are getting ready to send new hires to Germany for Sim (so I here). Uncle phil would not do this if the planes were leaving in a couple of months. And yes, he would know if that were happening. He just would pretend like he does not.

Yea I figure I have a much less chance of dying from disease, equipment failure, or fatigue at XJ than here. Besides logging 10 hours a month isn't getting me far even if it is Jet PIC... Plus I'd like to have more than 4 days off a month. I guess I am more like you than I thought (not a bad thing).... I do fit better in at the airlines.

Probably using the CRJ to entice new hires.... for the rest, well let's see, the Avro captains that haven't quit all became Saab captains, causing most of the Saab captains to be bumped back to Saab FO causing most of the Saab and displaced Avro FO's to be Furloughed ( most of which won't be coming back. SO... now that this round of BS is appearantly winding down... The former Avro captains will start moving into the CRJ capain seats, which opens up Saab captain seats for all the displaced Saab captains to get back to that position, which opens up seats for all the furloughs (plus probably a few new hires) which leaves open a bunch of new CRJ FO seats effectively vacated by everyone that has quit or declined recall the past year to be filled by 600 hour wonder-nuts....

We won't know for probably another week or more. I'm sure Mesaba will send letter's to all the furloughed people tomorrow (or very soon). They'll have to respond with their yes/no decision. We'll probably have to wait for a revision to 07-02, or the next seniority list to know for sure.

I wouldn't be suprised to see 17 CRJ's coming from 9E. With rumors of 9E flying for Delta, and NWAs threat to pull them if the contract is not done by the end of March, it would seem like a pretty good bet. 9E will get them back though (and then some) when our contract is up. Can someone from 9E refresh my memory on how it works if you fly for another carrier?

You would need to read the full Form 8-K filed by Pinnacle with the SEC. (this has nothing to do with college football or basketball
This would explain restrictions on the 17 CRJ’s and how Pinnacles Northwest fleet can be reduce and under what conditions it can be reduced.

Restrictions on Operations for Other Airlines Removed
The Amended ASA removes all restrictions preventing Pinnacle from using its wholly-owned subsidiary, Pinnacle Airlines, Inc., to provide regional airline services to other major airlines, with the exception of operating flights into or out of Northwest’s hub cities of Minneapolis, Detroit, and Memphis. Pinnacle may also operate aircraft with seating capacities of 76 seats, or such other size that does not cause Northwest to violate its collective bargaining agreement with its pilots union. Further, the existing provision that requires Pinnacle to allocate its overhead between multiple operations, thus reducing the amount Northwest pays to Pinnacle for overhead, will not be applicable until Pinnacle has added at least 24 aircraft with another partner.

There is more to this than the above paragraph as Northwest can reduce the number of aircraft it provides to Pinnacle if Pinnacle flies for someone else. You need to read the 8-K to get all the details.

• 17 CRJ-200/440 aircraft will be delivered to Pinnacle during 2007, subject to Pinnacle entering into a new collective bargaining agreement with the Airline Pilots Association ("ALPA"), the union representing Pinnacle's pilots. Pinnacle's contract with its pilots is currently amendable. Northwest will commit to either a three- or ten-year term for these aircraft with Pinnacle prior to March 31, 2007. However, if Pinnacle has not reached entered into an amended collective bargaining agreement with ALPA prior to March 31, 2007, Northwest will have an ongoing option to remove these 17 aircraft from Pinnacle at any time at a rate of three aircraft per month

Seems pretty cut and dry to me. Sign a contract or they will be pulled 3 per month.

So here is a question. Will all of us furloughs be treated as newhires again. ie no perdium while in long term training or will we get 24hr perday of perdium?

Returning furloughs should get the same pay as any employee for recurrent or an upgrade class, perdiem plus guarentee pay during training. The only time perdiem is not paid is during initial/newhire training.

Also, seniority accrues but longevity does not while on furlough.

It says they will have on ongoing option. It does not say that they WILL pull them.

Might want to look at the history of Mesaba over the last 5 years. Our last ASA said that we were receiving 15 CRJ200's with the next 20 (if options converted) guaranteed to us. They honored that pretty well huh?

The same guys are pulling uncil phil's strings. At this point, I would assume they are leaving if you don't have a contract on March 31. If it doesn't happen, then you are better off... if it does happen, don't get too upset, these are the games these guys play.
