Very Interesting. Why do I have the feeling there's gonna be more than 36 CRJs coming over an almost two-year span?
If the NWA pilots allow the mesaba contract to be used as SJet, you will get the ERJ's as well.

let me just say......It will be interesting to see how many come back. I have thought that not many would come back, but now I am thinking a few more than I thought would come back. There is a lot to think about with the possibilities of us having ERJ's, the 900's and saabs. I would think that the other thought of having some sort of flow would be a nice possibility. All that is up in the air, but one thing is for sure, if we are wholly owned, there is for sure going to be more growth than just 36 planes. So if we made it to 1500 pilots, coming back in the 500-600 range has a lot of potential.

Do you remember your password to get on mymesaba? If so just go on and see how the first vacancy played out. (out of 220 they had only about 30-40 acutally take the recall and not quit or bypass) Then they put out a second notice for the same class date for the remaining 20 seats and apparantly it bypassed all the way to the bottom and everyone on the bottom just resigned (no surprise there) so planning just said F-it and changed the recall to recall everyone, no more chance to bypass. It's now a take the MEM SF34 FO seats for April 2 or quit.

I talked with planning, they said that they were having to do way to much work to recall what they needed. So they decided to cut out the crap and recall everyone. I asked what will they do with 170 FO's in MEM, he said that its like a phantom base and that by the time they are back they will have the FO's where they need them. He also said that most will never even go to MEM. Now I see this as an indication of a number of things.

One, they are not expecting a lot of people to come back from furlough.
Two, they want all the recalls back now so that they can attract new hires to a shiny new CRJ 900.
Three, The are trying to get 150 FO's back because they are expecting 15 of 9E's crj 200's

When I talked to planning, they said that they will use the recalls as they need them. I am paraphrazing, and his statement confused me a little, but I suspect that they will not have one class of 150. My guess is that they will have a number of classes spread out over a few months. That is my guess, one of these, or a combination of these.

Does anyone know how the pay rate works for a returning furlough. Can you accumulate longevity while on furlough or do you return at your same pay.

I really don't think you are getting these planes. Just my impression. We are getting ready to send new hires to Germany for Sim (so I here). Uncle phil would not do this if the planes were leaving in a couple of months. And yes, he would know if that were happening. He just would pretend like he does not.

Find the Silver Fish on the 5th stop off of the S Bahn past Teirgarten. Ask for Boris. You won't go wrong.

A red tail would go through a whole fake bankruptcy to change the pretzel brand.

The vacancy award is out. Nothing real surprising, just a whole bunch of people awarded MEM Saab FO.

SO the furloughs are coming back to be Saab FO's? WHat are they going to do about the new hires? Saab or CRJ? And further more, who is going to Captain the Saabs and the CRJ's? Former Avro guys?

Hey Sig, are you headed back?

Yea I figure I have a much less chance of dying from disease, equipment failure, or fatigue at XJ than here. Besides logging 10 hours a month isn't getting me far even if it is Jet PIC... Plus I'd like to have more than 4 days off a month. I guess I am more like you than I thought (not a bad thing).... I do fit better in at the airlines.
