I had a blast flying in the Air Force. It just takes a few months to get used to all of the regs. Somehow the AF never bought into the whole "simpler is better" philosophy.
It is funny watching how wrapped around the axle people get about the regs, though. I always hated when someone would walk up and say "I know I read XYZ somewhere, do you remember which pub it's in?" Inevitably it meant spending the next 15-20 minutes digging through the 12 or so pubs that we used on a regular basis.
