There is some idiot former Hawaiin Air Stew who has made a living scaring the crap out of people about air quality on airliners. They are probably getting the info in this article from her.

Go to www.flyana.com for a few laughs. Actually it kind of pissed me off becuase this moron stew is making money by scaring the snot out of gullible passengers.

I'm not an expert by any stretch...

...but there is some relevance to air circulation and air quality in the cabin.

For example, in traditionally designed cabins the air flows from front to back. One reason is to help in case of cockpit smoke evac.

But my understanding of the 777 system is that the air moves *laterally* across the cabin rather than *longitudinally* down the cabin. Apparently the benefit with this design is fewer contaminated pax if someone coughs up a virus...

...I just read it somewhere...I'm sure some expert can elaborate.

Ciao.

This is a nice gem: "To get more fresh air on the airplane, ask your flight attendant to request the pilot for "less recirculated air and more fresh air, please."
