We should all feel so lucky to know that we have passengers that are more knowledgeable about flying than us.

I know what to say. As a whole people are stupid. Individually, some are not so bad. In this case, I'm not sure who has the lower IQ... The woman pretending that she knows what the hell is going on, or the reporter who decided to talk to the stupid bit*h about her "attempted mass murder" experience.

That is a very good point, I like the point where the guy says, I was really concerned and I would have taken my family off of the airplane, but I did not buy trip insurance and did not want to lose the money.

"Kihm said he would have taken his family off the plane, except for the fact that they had purchased trip insurance and would have lost money had the plane taken off."

I bet his family is proud that he would have taken them off, but was unable to do the fact that he may have been out a few dollars.

You can't win. The other half of the plane is probably complaining that he didn't take off, and they're still stuck in Denver.

Doh!!! Wu beat me to the comment.

There seems to be a lot missing in this story. Original Departure at 7:30 am, but only made it to the deice area. But later in the article it says, airplane left the gate at 11:06 am with re-scheduled dept. time of 12:30 p.m.
So did it come back to the gate after de-icing and sit for 3.5 + hours???
Passengers disembarked at 3:30 p.m.. That's a lot of time unaccounted for...if those hours were in fact spent at the gate, why not just de-plane

And what the he11 is trip insurance??? Sounds like junk fees to me.

Post this in the majors forum With ATTN: AA pilots. See if you can find out who was flying. The pilot may want to take personal civil action on these people.

Toolbag disembarks after hours on tarmac

News
December 20, 2006
The snowstorm stranded a 737 with 117 passengers for several hours on the tarmac at Denver International Airport, leaving at least one no talent assclown furious that the flight had not been cancelled sooner.
According to Bob Kihm, a male prostitute who was still on board the plane with his skank and two love children as of 1 p.m. when they contacted the Rocky Mountain News by cell phone. Kihm had alot of sand in his crack and took his anger out on the pilot. "I still can't believe that I graduated Grade-School," he said. "God Bless the US Public School system."

"We feel like Kihm can suck it," said spokesman Tim Wagner. "It's an easy decision, a no brainer."
"I think the other passengers are relieved they don't have to sit next to me anymore." Kihm said.

I recall a Simpsons quote that is quite fitting.

Salesman: Surely you can't put a price on your family's lives?
Homer: I wouldn't have thought so either, but here we are.

I wrote a little f.u. to the author and told him he was just as stupid as the passenger for even writing this garbage...

The f&ckface author will be hired by CNN for having that article in his portfolio!

This is my email sent to that reporter...

Dear Mr. Ensslin;

I cannot believe how dumb you, and that passenger, come across after reading your article about the "cowboy" pilot who "attempted to takeoff" in the DIA blizzard.

As an airline pilot, I am appalled at your spin which casts a fellow aviator in bad light and validates the patently ignorant opinion of a passenger who, in his own words and logic, chose to risk his life because he had an insurance policy.

Do you realize how laughable that sounds?

Were it not for the defamation of that crew, I'd have kept my opinion to myself.

Hoping CNN hires you soon!

Best regards,

Pete-the-pilot from Atlanta

If I was the pilot, I would sue the #$%@ out of that family.

I think that is taking this whole thing just a little bit too far. Plus, the man could have very easily been scared thus negating all of his crazy and stupid coments.

Yeah! Where's Johnny COCKran.....maybe he could sue the Captain AND AA for "intent to be a cowboy."

"The glove don't fit, and I'm scared sh!t"

$20 million, maybe?

Personally, I'm glad he wrote the article. It's been such a crappy week, I desperately needed the laugh!

John,

You missed the byline in your article “Passengers disembark after hours on tarmac.”

It should’ve read “Passenger Risks Everything to Save a Few Dollars.”

Mr. Kihm’s decision to remain on the flight even though he was given the opportunity to disembark was based on economics. “Kihm said he would have taken his family off the plane, except for the fact that they had purchased trip insurance and would have lost money had the plane taken off.”

Mr. Kihm was more interested in saving a few dollars THAN THE SAFETY OF HIS OWN FAMILY!

American Airlines did everything prudent to provide transportation, but the weather didn’t cooperate. The Captain decided it was not safe and returned to the gate – a decision based not on economics, but safety (the lost money on the flight). That’s far more impressive than the decision Mr. Kihm made regarding his family. I applaud the Captain for making that decision.

Stop letting sensationalism take precedence over journalism.

William

It would have been cool if they threw him to the ground and had a few attack dogs tear him apart right in front of his family.... oh wait did I think that outloud?

Wow
