Wide Open Throttle, Lean Of Peak.
The current issue of Kitplanes has a mythbusting article about operating lean of peak on recips. I haven't flown a recip in so long, that I don't remember how I leaned. :-(
Does anyone have any first hand experience in using a graphic engine monitor and leaning past peak?
If memory serves, Lindberg used this technique to dramatically increase the range of P38's operating in the South Pacific during WWII. But they did it without any sort of engine monitor. Smart man, that Lindberg.
