As for a Lakes Hotel.......Right up there in the race has to be the Super 8 in RKS.. I have seen the photos one of our crew member had of Boogers....yes Boogers smeared on the wall. Also one of our crew members stepped in a wet spot that was puke cleverly hidden by the good old puke powder...

The red carpet inn in KMWA and the
Motel 6 in KTBN. The 6 is not so bad
as it is new, but there is no breakfast,
no shampoo, micro-thin towels like sand
paper (just like the buttwipe) and one
of our crews got mugged at gunpoint
walking back from Micky-D's one night...

TBN= Fort Lost in the Woods! That motel 6 was the worse.
PAH= Outside doors at the Pear Tree Inn 2nd floor at the very back on the Hotel!

Lakes-

The Grizzly Inn (aka The Griz) ALS, Alamosa, CO. I was paired up with another captain who had to make a trip to the hospital after we stayed there??

Good ole, real life bed-bugs! Ate him up!

I can't believe that. That is HORRIBLE!!

Lakes-

I believe it was/is the Best Western, GCK, Garden City Kansas. The front desk would yell at you for trying to eat the breakfast. The air in that town smelled like poo. If the air was blowing the right way it smelled ok until you opened the door to your hot hotel room. The room did a fine job of soaking up that smell and preserving it in a nice 90 degree environment. I once checked in with someone who started heaving at the door when we opened our rooms up. Also had a very smart FO show me all the tricks to make the room survivable. Here was her routine.

Put the Ice bag on the remote
Put one towel on the floor in the shower, another towel on the floor outside the shower.
She had her own way of turning down the sheets and sleeping cleanly.
Always wore sandals in the room.
And there were even more good tips! She had it down to a science!

But the free city zoo was just down the street! Watch out for Rhino urine!

Are you serious? Did you guys really stay at a Motel 6 at Regions? That's sad if it's true but kind of funny.

CAK, I've waited over an hour and a half for the the van. Contract says we get a cab after 30 mins. Trouble is, no cab service in the town. Waiting for the van at the Not So Quality Inn is routine.

The Clarion at IAH. . . . Dont go outside at night and be ready to run your shower for a good 30 mins int he morning to make it even luke warm.

The Wayfarer?

I agree, though, La Quinta in GRK is really, really bad. I got out of bed one morning only to step right on a roach.

The Hilton STL Airport is pretty bad, too. The bus shows up and you're pushed out of the way by CHQ ground crews trying to get to their car. Only to have to stand in the back of the smelliest bus in the world. The staff is rude and so far, I'm 2 for 2 on cold showers in the morning without so much as an I'm sorry.

The Hilton Park-n-Ride sux but what really gets me about the place is the door into your room. Ever noticed that they open towards the hallway, I feel like I'm walking into my closet.

WOW this could go on for days. Rime Garden in BHM. There was a dead roach inside my alarm clock, lipstick on the sheets, blah blah blah. The deceased insect in the clock was a classic.

From my experience, I would have to say the Holiday Inn in Memphis, located in the ghetto (ex-Blueridgers know, and I think AirTran also). I believe this is where Elvis wrote his hit song, "In the Ghetto". What a dive! !!!!

Where is this one? We stay at the downtown H.I. near Beale Street and across from the Peabody.

AF

Current Great Lakes....The holiday inn in Clovis NM gives you ear plugs to dampen the noise from the railyard across the street. But, with those earplugs comes a great little brochure that informs you of the history of the rail road!

Would you still consider the Holiday Inn a step down from the Howard Johnson Express we used to use?

By by LaQuinta, thanks you arrogant little b!tch!!!! Quit and suck your way to a job at Mesa. By the way, smoking is bad for you.

Ive actually never had the pleasure of staying at the HOJO in Clovis, how ever I heard it was on Giant Piece of Sh!t, and if its anything like the Laramie HOJO, Im probally greatful were at a holiday in now.

I wonder if she has any clue what she has done.....that was a sad day.

I'm sensing a theme here. Holiday Inns aren't the places they used to be when we all took family vacations as kiddies. Here are a few of mine:

When we used to stay there, the Holiday Inn Airport hotel in PHL. The hotel was awful and you had a choice of Denny's or a cheese steak joint for food. This was always my least favorite city, airport, employees, hotel and overnight in the system. It's better now that we have moved to different hotels for the long and short overnights.

When we used to fly there, the ERI Holiday Inn. Mildew hotel near the train tracks.

Doubletree downtown DAY. Don't go out at night or you, too, could "see dead people."

Doubletwig hotel Military Circle Mall ORF. I am actually torn between this hotel and our previous hotel now. Though this hotel has more to do around it, the word GHETTO doesn't begin to describe this place. If you are facing the parking lot, for a good portion of the night you will be treated to your own private concert of "urban" music from the cars in the mall parking lot. At least the Holiday Inn Executive Center in ORF was recently remodeled, somewhat decent and safer. (Hard to believe I could praise a Holiday Inn!)

I was very surprised to hear that this was the new hotel. I stayed there several times in a previous life. I do not look forward to ORF overnights now. There was even a shooting in the parking lot about 7 or 8 months ago. I called the Hotel Hotline last time I stayed there to complain about the hotel, noise, location and rude staff. I will continue to call every time I stay there.

I wish we could stay at the Sheraton where Southwest and Delta stay. That's a great location.

I'm not sure exactly, but I do know it's nowhere near downtown.

The "ghetto" H.I. in MEM that you are speaking of is right next to the airport. That whole neighborhood is depressed near the airport and anywhere near there is going to be the ghetto. I would imagine the H.I. downtown is much nicer with the Peabody being across the street.

If I correctly recall, a CHQ F/O was robbed at gunpoint while walking to get a pack of cigarettes near our ORF hotel. And after there was a murder/suicide in the elevator at our RDU hotel, our crews were afforded the option of not staying there. Of course, that program only lasted for a full THREE DAYS.

Lovin' life at the Best Western Albany Airport Inn!!!

The Wellesley Inn in HPN. I love doing the shower dance between freezing cold and scolding hot water.

Another one of my favorites was the 4 Points in PIT. In order to get myself to sleep I used to count the springs I could feel poking through the mattress into my back. Glad we don't stay there anymore.

Hojo at SWF Stewart Newburgh, NY. 2 story concrete clapboard-truckers in rear parking lot all night running engines, hoes svcing truckers, porn shop next door, crappy diner across st., c5s roaring across hotel, busting hotel clerk watching porn at 5am, built in 1950s roach infested dump.

And for the guy knocking the MEM Holiday Inn, at least some enterprising FA's can make some extra cabbage by dancing next door- I'm pretty sure some of ours did. I hear the hotel has changed, not sure if the dancing had anything to do with it.

Ty,
I can tell you for sure that some of ours have. I had one of my best layovers at that dump.

I can't believe nobody has mentioned that freaky place in Marquette - Red Fox Inn, or something like that. Talk about bizarre and scary. I was afraid to open the refrigerator door, I thought there might be a head in there or something. I hope I NEVER have to stay there again.

Oh yeah, I never did hear which elevator the murder occured in in the Crabtree Holiday Inn. Does anybody know? I'd rather take the other one...

The hotel next to the airport in Cody Wyoming. Can't think of the name of it, but after scaring the bejesus out of getting yourself there during WX you have to go to this hole.

Ramada Inn Woodlawn in CLT - Hole

Airport Ramada PHL (almost got electrocuted when plugging in my electric razor)
