Does anyone have a suggestion for Worldwide internet providers? I would like to use my laptop while overseas.

When I travel, I use (hate to say it) AOL. It's done well in most countries I've been to. However, when the hotels are charging a huge local call rate or I don't have access, and internet cafe always works well. If you stay in a Hilton brand hotel overseas, most have a business center with internet access as well.

We have friends who travel a lot, and they use AOL whether they are in France or Australia, they get their email. Personally, I hate AOL, and I have found that if you can get to an internet cafe, you can use webmail , which is free, to retrieve your email, from anywhere.

I agree with the CAPT !

I used dial up overseas and it is too expensive...used both AOL and Earthlink. Plus dialing out of hotels to get "local" country numbers is a real pain.

Most good hotel chains overseas (Intercont,Hyatt,Kempinski etc..) all offer high speed access. Usually it is 10-20 bucks a day (sometimes even free!). but even 10-20 a day is a lot less then what your dial up will charge you.
