How do you like the flying? Are the trips bad/good? Is it true you can live anywhere in the lower 48 and World will fly you to where ever the plane is. So if I want to live in Denver and my flight is leaving out of Houston they would buy me a ticket or make me jumpseat? Im a single male with no kids. With ASA heading south fast I'm looking for a new home.

So if you could do it all over would you go to World again?

whats up with 747's?

Thanks

Have you tried doing a search under World? You'll find all the answers to your questions and more. Here are some quick answers. I love the flying, although some nights across the oceans can be long. The trips are good and bad, it's all relative. A trip that I think is horrible, guys are biding every month. YES, you can live anywhere! They will buy you a ticket from the lower 48 to where the plane is. No, they can't make you jumpseat. Would I fly for World again, yes!! Some guys are looking elsewhere, primarily for the $$, but I'm not. As far as the 747s, the company still says they're coming. Guys are starting training early next year.

Your single, I can think of no better place for you, except maybe Southwest, but then again at Southwest, she may be a knockout but you've got to get up at 04:30, so no beers for you!

You are an idiot. FedEx and UPS both are infinately better than World.

Nevermind BoknowsASA, apparently you shouldn't even be thinking about World, it either FedEx, UPS or nothing!

Hey A$$face, all I was saying was a single guy might enjoy going out with a crew of 12 than a crew of 3. Last I looked Southwest's crews are greater than 3 also. Duh, I wonder what I mean.

You're quite a charmer aren't you? Do you talk to your dog like that?

Trust me if World offered me a job I would be all over it like a fat kid on a Popsicle. Un fortune they haven’t.
80 for 80 (what a stupid idea) you are a disgrace to the X Eagle family

I am betting you are one of those Captains the FO's look forward to walking away from in the terminal.

I can't believe I paid 10 bucks to hear this name calling. No wonder the industry is in shambles. I'm sure World is a great place to work.

You conveniently forgot to mention the "club" you need for BOTH UPS and Fedex ie. a sponsor. If you don't have that you ARE wasting you're time!!!:crying:

From someone who knows only too well!!!...........

There is no "club" here are UPS.

They've stopped hiring for now... starting a class of 4 DC-10 FO's in a few weeks.

The MD-11 they were looking to get fell through, thus the stoppage of hiring.

Last I heard was possible interviewing in Aug, but nothing official. Heard a RUMOR that World is looking at acquiring some of Varig's MD-11s - not sure if that is what Peanuckle is reffering to.

I would definitely come to World all over again. Quality of Life and pay is far better than what the regionals offer, and I enjoy the lifestyle at World more than I did scheduled domestic flying.

Yeah, I walked with BY about a week ago- said they NEEDED 12 FO's...just waiting on approval. I'm hoping to get the call in the next round. Got Monday-Wed off all next month, too. The more I've heard about the company, the more I've liked them. Sounds like a great place to work.

There was a UPS MD-11 that they were looking at recently, apparently. It was going to need a heavy check and such almost immediately, thus wasn't cost effective- heard from the rumor mill. Those Varig MD-11's would be very beneficial to getting me on board, haha.

We own some of the MD-11s World flies. We are waiting for conversion slots. Rather than just park them in the desert till a slot opens up, we are making a few more bucks leasing them to World.
