I had a buddy that flew for them. He got in the Right seat of the MD-11 at 24 with 2100 tt, that was about 5 years ago. He left for UPS. But, from what I have heard the companys Captains top out at 120k a year, which is very low compared to other airlines!

I ran into a World crew at the bar a few weeks ago. They are hiring. He made it sound like they were in full swing. Sorry I don't have any particulars.

Not positive if they are hiring although that is the rumor.
As far as pay they are pretty good for a non sched. As an fo I made 80k last year with almost zero overtime. The schedules tend to be 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off. It is possible to be away from home longer although for me that has not been MY experience.( I have had 2 months where I was away from home more than 20 days in a row, however by the time they bought back days off and overtime I made 9500 and 13000 the next month)
Monthly guarentee is 65 hours although with t.h.p. if you are gone 14 days you are above that.
first year all equipment is roughly 37 per hour
second year is approx 70/ dc-10 and 75/md-11
second officer pay is about 57 the second year(until recently you could be hired into any position although the union just won a grievance so I imagine all new hires will be s.o. on the dc-10
Fleet is approx9 md11s and 8 dc-10s
Pilots are based in IAD(dulles) or LAx . FAs are IAD or SEA
however all pilots are home based-meaning you can live where you want and the company must buy you a revenue ticket to work and home(That right there is worth quite abit)
Contracts are ever changing although the military is a large portion of business as well as other wet leases both on the cargo side and passenger side
