I'm thinking about moving to NC to live with a friend. I'm looking for flight schools that stay pretty busy. Right now I average around 25 hours at week at my current gig.

Also, if anyone knows of cargo operators that operate in NC that would be great.

websites, phone #'s etc..

Ram Air in RDU, I think they are looking, last time I passed by there they had just had a couple of guys leave.

Flight Express in the CLT area. They also have lost a few to the regionals in the last couple of months.

or if you have more than just 135 mins, Mountain Air Cargo in Denver NC. Though I haven't heard of them hiring in a long time. (Caravan, FedEx feeder)

Can't help you out much with the flight school outlook, Maybe Rock Hill SC (CLT area) I heard they have a new school over there now. New airport manager or something, anyhow, word is he is trying to rebuild the business over there.

Last I heard, the flight school thingee was dead at FAY. Not sure if they have one on Bragg, still. You might check with the local skydiving clubs to see if they're looking for drivers. There's alot of them.

Also, there's a flight and glider school in Lillington that used to be pretty active. If that's something you'd be interested in I'd be glad to PM you the name of the guy running the show. He's a helluva nice fellow.

cargo

It's actually "Package Express" out of Charlotte and Concord, NC, call sign "Race City."
Good place to get experience and fair people to work for.

Hello,

I second the previous post on Package Express. PAy is a little bit better than Ram Air from what I've heard, so people don't move on as quickly. Company is growing and more than fair managment. D.O. and C.P. are really good guys and will work with you if you need a day-off. We are also equipped with GNS-430s in quite a few of airplanes and I think we'll see more as time goes on. Ownership is ATC, so understands the savings of having IFR TSO'd GPS equipped aircraft. Good luck!
