I've an interview in the begining of Feb. I believe I've all my bases covered, but I want to make sure. Below is a list of things I've done to prepare, please let me know if I'm missing something, or if you recomend anything! This is my first shot at this, and I would prefer it was my only shot.

Type - scheduled for 1/23-2/5 (will have for interview)
Paperwork - National driver record
- State driving record(s)
- HS & college transcripts
- logbook
- copies of degrees, certificates
- copies of my FAA files (all)
Recommendations - Captains flown with, FOs flown with, FAs flown with, supervisors (CPs and Directors of Training), and anyone at WN that I know
Reading NUTS,The Southwest Way, and the WN website.
Going through logbook and gouges for TMAAT questions
Suit - Navy, white shirt, power tie (redish)
Bikini wax ;)
One-on-One Interview prep (if anyone knows of a good one let me know)

I need help, especially with the last one. If anyone knows of real good interview prep for WN, let me know so I can set it up!

Thanks,
Avro

I know they have changed the interview a bit and it includes a "paper tiger" session with another applicant as your "copilot" to see how you handle situations. Don't know much about it but I have heard you need to just slow down and use ALL of your available resources when faced with a challenge - ie dispatch, controllers, COPILOT, checklist, even the stews if it's a problem in the back.

I'd ask around and find more info on this senario. One word of caution. Don't BS anyone in the interview. Be yourself. Be prepared. And did I say be yourself?

I'll never forget the last question the last interviewer asked me. "Do you have anything else for me?" I answered that I didn't feel I did a good enough job itterating how much I wanted to be here. He said "just tell me." I have no doubt that the next couple minutes is why I'm here today.

Knock 'em dead.

Dont need your national drivers record or FAA file the company request all that you just need to fill out and sign the forms they send you. Save your money on the prep (in my opinion) have your wife (sorry I saw you are a packer fan - your life partner) ask you the questions from the gouge. High school and college transcripts not necessary just your copy of diploma. Good Luck. Da Bears

Those are hate words. ;)
Actually, I thought I was going to pee my pants!

Thanks for the advice!

BTW, I'll be rooting for da Bears this this postseason. I have much respect for the team and the fans. Their not like Queens fans!

What airline are we talking here (WN)?

"WN Interview, now what?"

It's only the thread title and the first line in his post....Sorry I could resist. ;) Not trying to be a wise guy, but hey, you walked right into this one. No mean spirited intended....just shaking my head, hoping you have a good excuse. ;)

I've been pushing my peeps towards Emerald Coast Consulting and/or Cage Consulting.... Its my belief that Emerald has the fresher product.

I would also get caught up on the "wright admendment" a much as you can. Although, not an interview question, this topic is big at Southwest and could provide some good small talk, inbetween the questions. This would also show that - you know your SWA stuff...... visit www.setlovefree.com for some good info. on the subject.

then make sure you tell them you're a huge SWA/FO fan on flightinfo.com, it might even be me interviewing you! Good luck!! :D

You should read my question carefully before you open your pie hole, I'm especifically asking for WN, not everybody is a wise guy like you,,,so let me refrace my question just for you,,nah, I changed my mind, got better things to do than to deal with you.

WN = two letter identifier for Southwest Airlines.

Ok let me refrace the question , just for you,"what is WN"?

Airline Codes for $200 Alex...

Alex Trebek...."What is the 2 letter code that identifies "Southwest?"

MED,

I wasn't trying to be a jerk. If you took my post that way, then please go back and reread it. If you read my words carefully, you'll notice I mentioned I wasn't trying to be mean spirited, and I'm not.

I read your post, knew what you meant, and replied in a witty way, or so I intended. If you think I'm a jerk, that's your perogative. That wasn't my intent and still isn't.

If I make a post and it comes across slightly different than intended and someone calls me on it, I try to see their point, and laugh about it. That's all I was trying to do. Wasn't trying to upset you along the way. Getting into pissing contest on a BB is a no win situation.

If you took my post as insulting, I offer my sincere apology. I made the post trying to be funny without being mean about it, hence the icons with ;) and such.

Thanks for that reminder....:(

And yes Congrats to West Virginia...they earned it outright. Well there's always next year...wait, but we won't have a QB. :(

2006 a rebuilding year...

Thanks for the terrific advice!
Never crossed my mind to research the Wright Amendment. Of course I know what it's about, but not any details/history. This will help immensly(sp?)

It's all in the details! Keep them coming everyone!

Sometimes its the "small talk" that wins over an interview.... I talked about college football for 20 minutes during my interview (with an Ohio State fan)....wow, don't think I could pull it off.

SHHHKREW YOU TREBEK!!!

JAP ANUS RELATIONS for $200

I'm trying to explain that I have no idea what WN is because I'm not base in the US.

Peace,
Med

I thought we already told you there Gina Simmons! Where you based?

Just interviewed a few days ago. I would avoid the red tie thing. There was only one in our group that wore one, everyone else had "color". I also did Emerald Coast Interview prep and was pretty much spot on - plus comes with a money back guarantee if you don't get the job. Good luck.

...I personally find Yahtzee's avatar very offensive and revel in anyone putting him in his place. Give'em he11!

Sounds like a revised LOI with another applicant as opposed to a Southwest interviewer as your FO. Can anyone back this up? I'd like to know if they changed the LOI. I can interview again in July and hope to do so as soon as possible after my date passes.
