-Next years 737s will be tied to MD-80 replacement and not growth.

-70 seat RJs extremely likely in Kansas City.(R. Fornaro Webcast)

-High seniority work force being integrated into junior work force.

-Now owning Skyway a company said to be ill maintained by their Mgmt so a shutdown can occur on short notice if needed.(great pilots though)

I guess we always need to look at the negatives too. Looks like instead of going up in senority you will be stymied or perhaps move backward. Depending on how the integration goes of course.

Considering the 737's are coming and there are really no prime markets to place them in, using them as MD80 replacements makes sense.

Was told by the AAI CP that AAI is in talks with Boeing for more 737's... Remember, the MD's wouldn't need to be replaced right away, AAI could wait until later when they can get more 737's delivered to replace the 737's, thus, keeping growth moving forward rapidly.. AAI could also go shopping for other 737's like SWA is known to do.. There is also 717's sitting in the sand that could be purchased to help growth........ As far as integration, and this is only my opinion.... The AAI guys should benefit from this merger. Not a lot, but a little.. In other words, if I was sitting at 50% in the company, I would want to move up a little, maybe around 45%... This merger would help the Midwest guys because their upgrade time would come down considerably.. So, everyone could win and be happy.... Lets just hope it works that way..

gt I like the way your talking I hope so too.

However, CP usually are not well informed. AAI has the option of speeding up orders or getting more(JL talked about this during the last investor call) I will believe it when I see it. They also said they have the option of selling or deferring orders.

Anyway I hope your right I'm a little worried the Chicago people won't flock to MKE like we think they will even when the low fares.

Time will tell.

That is what our contract is for. If it has a turbine of any kind on it. Then we should have an Airtran pilot filling the front seats. It is ashame to see what Delta(I see them every day in ATL other pilot groups are just as guilty) has let become of their narrowbody flying. The regionals are flying the Crj 900/700/200 and Erj 135/145/170.In my opinion all of these planes should be flown by the same group of pilots.

I hope our new contract makes the point clear. No other pilot group will operate under the AirTran name, period!

So how do you cancel the current code share agreements?

Pan Am put the Ransome (Pan Am Express) pilots on the bottom of the list, but it hasn't been done that way in 20 years.

If this deal does go through, AirTran may cancel the code share with Skywest. I don't know if that will be the situation, but an option the company may pursue. I know they do want to use some RJs for the smaller markets, just not sure how many. Like my fellow coworker said above, I don't want to see a contract carrier flying any 70 seat or great airplanes in AirTran colors. AirTran pilots can fly them and we can negotiate pay rates that are favorable for the company to be profitable to fly them. This contracting out to the lowest bidder bull******************** has to stop and stop now! Something that will definitely draw a NO vote from me if the contract does not have a strong scope claus! The sooner we pilots start fighting to keep contract flying off our properties, the sooner we can get back to finding better working conditions in this industry. Something definitely worth fighting for!

You say thank you for your service. Bye

Airtran has always been a little old school.

How much money did chittytaco (Chautauqua) make last year?A couple hundred million.
How much was passed onto the employee groups?very little
Companies just keep undercutting each other and make upper management more money. These guys are under payed for the flying they are doing. This type of flying needs to be brought back in house and stop this outsourcing.
