I have decided to make this a sticky on this forum only for a few days. I feel that it is very important for us as pilots to be able to possible save a child. This service is not an advertisement and is a public service tool that can save a child's life. Since we travel and work in the aviation business, if a child is kidnapped, there is a good chance that the person may try to fly out of town with the child before the alerts go out. If we can save or help a child in anyway, then I think its worth it to sign up.

Bump..

Apparently you have to enter multiple zip codes though or it only works in your hometown. Kind of a bummer it won't work everywhere.

I thought so as well but 2 days ago I got an amber alert for a missing child in Kansas...I live in south Texas.

So, while it asks for your zip code it looks like the entire country alerts get sent to you.

From talking to cops I know...pervs and kidnappers are likely to stay away from airports or places where there are lots of people and law enforcement.

they usually use their own vehicles or stolen vehicles to get to where they are going...and they are not normally responsible middle class folks.

I'll have to pass on this one....I get amber alerts on my TV, on my radio, and on the message boards on the freeway. When I get one...I look around...see if the description fits and then decide to call 911 or not.

So far, I've never made the call. And getting a cell phone amber alert at my house? Nah....but all the best to those who participate.

By the time you see it on a message board on a freeway, it's likely too late...

If you have friends who are LE, they've also likely told you that IF an abducted child is recovered, it's usually in the first few hours after they've been abducted.

If you haven't caught them in the first 48 hours, they're unlikely to be caught until weeks, months, or even years later, if ever.

Subscribed, thanks.
