I have a student that is doing the FAA Wings program. Does anyone know if the AOPA Air Safety Foundation online courses (i.e. Skyspotter, Runway Safety Program) count for the required safety seminar attendance? Thanks in advance for your response.

I don't think that counts cause you need some sort of form that is signed by the speaker at the seminar. I only ran across a Wings person one time when I instructed but he had this paper that I had to sign as well. It was a few years ago but if I remember correctly it had a spot for me to sign and a spot for the seminar and something else but I can't remember who the other signature had to be.

Already have that AC in my library. Thanks for the link, still doesn't address online courses though.

Some do, some don't. Go to http://www.aopa.org/asf/courses.html, click on a course and there will be something on the course page that will tell you if it does.

For example, on the page for the runway incursion course, it says,

"Successful completion of this course satisfies the ground school requirement of the FAA "Wings" Pilot Proficiency Award Program. Simply print out the certificate after passing the test to show proof of completion."
