Does anyone have any recent experience either renting from or working for Windy City Flyers at PWK? I was wondering what things are like at this flying club which seems to be the only rental place left at Palwaukee. Most of the other flight schools are gone out there, and WCF seems to have the place to itself. Any comments would be appreciated.

I dont have any experiance with them but was looking to WCF a few days ago. I think its a pretty good deal if you have the money. Im in a similar flying club out at RFD but we dont have a twin. WCF has 3 twins....that hard to beat.

I have a friend who is an instructor there. I don't think he's flown in several months. Sounds like they have more instructors than they need.

One of my old best freinds is the chief instructor/manager there. I met him in undrgrad at Western. I know they are 10X better than the "other" flight school on the feild. Like anywhere else, most CFI's move on as soon as they can for career oportunities.

BTW, his name is Skip, he is a great instructor, he taught me a ton of stuff back in the day 20 years ago, now we are doing our own thing but I noticed he is top dog now. If I were to take lessons there, I would use him, he knows his stuff. I don't see him much anymore, he is real busy with his family, I am glad to hear he is doing so well!

The guy that Weasil is talking about is me, I sort of work there. I have been too busy with life to take any time to get over there.

Skip is a great guy, has more knowledge in his left pinky than I do in my brain. Good luck in scheduling him though, I don't recall him really working with students other than the instructors. All in all, WCF is a great place to learn and to rent.

TDTURBO: If you happen to talk to Skip anytime soon, tell him Tiny said hello wouldya? Thanks

Sure will, we were buddies in college, we learned to fly around the same time. I never thought he would end up where he is though. I would have flown 135 before managing a bunch of instructors, what a pain in the ass that would be. He loves to fly though and is a great pilot, he taught me a lot.

Oh, if you really want to get on his good side, call him "gripper".lmao

I guarentee if you do, he will know who I am. :)

After he turns all red in the face, I hope you have another job lined up....lmao........hehe

I almost forgot, another one he loves is being called Eugene, you do that, the same thing will happen.

Sometimes being mean is fun, but Skip is a good guy, tell him it's all in good fun and I was just yanking his chain, he should just laugh it off, at least he would when we were college buddies.

If that's the case, then I'm sure I'll be getting a call from him since I haven't talked to him in a while, I hope all is well with his wife and family.

Tell him Bullett Head and Low Mo said hey!:D

Skip,

Leave it to screen names, no need to compromise anonymity, we all know who we are and who we want to remain, :)
