ummmm

I'm washing and helping out our mechanic at school, I'm making the least amount of money I have made in the past 5 years. The only reason I keep the job is because of the people I meet at the airport. So far I've met a retired astronaut, guy with a King-Air, retired Continental Capt. with a Baron, and a few other other people that are good "connections". Washing isn't bad, and if you help a mechanic out you can learn alot about aircraft systems. The knowledge is unlimited, just don't expect to make much money.

That's Pretty Harsh

They probably would not take a chance on some schmoe ruining the paint job.

Capt. 80,

The "schmoes"are just trying to make a living, much like yourself.

You can make a lot of coin, but it is work. Also, 80for80 was on the right track when he said something about corporate operators not using joe shmoe. Corporate operators will pay good money, but they want someone that they can trust knows how to treat a $100K paint job. Also, EPA regulations bar you from actually washing a plane in some areas, so you have to know how to wipe one down without water. That and numerous other stupid rules will hassle you everyday.

good luck
