Just a quick question. I've been kicked out of the left seat of an RJ and am stuck at 1475 Turbin/Jet PIC. My total time is about 4000 and am currently logging that ever valuable SIC time. Right now, there is no hope of getting back to the left seat anytime soon. I bit the bullet last year and got the type but my phone must be broken, No phone calls yet. Do you guys think SWA will ever call or are they going to stick with the 1800 PIC thing? I've got lots of friends over at SWA, but I know they can't help me until I get the call. Any replies would be helpful with my future career decisions. Thanks.

I'm very greatful to have a job, but just can't believe I've been in this industry for over 8 years and am still making $35K. Good Times......

I'm the last person to know what SWA will do, now or in the future. But, I'd guess that they will eventually change their criteria for interveiw calls. Here's my reasoning, SWA apparently hires for personality not ability and at some point someone inside of SWA will realize that there could be some way to determine the best interview candidates, some way other than flight times.

In the mean time, if you bit the bullet and got the type, why not bite the bullet and go find a job that will allow PIC? I don't know your situation, but if there is no future at your current job, and SWA is your goal, then you should do everything in your power to reach that goal. At this time, it appears that your PIC is not competive (neither is mine). You can wait until they exhaust the supply of guys above you, or find a way to climb the ladder. In the first case, you will be losing seniority at your airline of choice, and from that perspective, my choice would be easy.

good luck
