will comair continue to hire?

Ironic as since i've got an app in with AirApps (or what ever that App is for CAL) they keep sending me emails to come in for an interview.. Yea, right!

Anyone know if those 70's are going to ASA or Skywest yet?
 
The thing with comair is before this loss they were RIDICULOUSLY understaffed, and people have been leaving like crazy there. My buddy blocked over 100 hours on reserve last month. Surely this loss will propel even more attrition and the need for more pilots.

Now i'm not saying hiring will continue and furloughs aren't possible, BUT...given the situation over there right now i would not say they are a certainty.

The memo on the company website says we're still projected to hire 30 in Dec. and 60 in Jan. due to attrition and the current understaffed situation. Not that I've ever read anything but lies on there. I would definitely expect to be based in JFK as a new hire, as CVG will now receive most of the 120 or so downgraded pilots from the 70.

Don't know if any one has heard this, but I would also expect the interview process to become much more challenging with the new minimums (which might go even lower). Training dept was saying they are going to be doing thorough, multiple day sim evals of the candidates, in the CRJ sim.
 
Not only as a new hire would I imagine you would go to JFK, however recent company communications have said that our increase in flying in the northeast will also call for properly staffing the NE base. An upcoming displacement bid will most likely place a portion of the CVG reserve list into JFK.
