 Viper...Yeah, 5-1 NOT! We would tell you guys right where to stick it before we all walked! NOT HAPPENING!! Date of HIRE!

Deer,

67 last week, but havn't been able to follow up the magic since. Amateur qualifier in two weeks, if you are done with class, i'll need a caddie! Have fun at the Candlehood, bro.

Tomcat,

5-1 year of service, not 5-1 skywest to ASA. Relax, it's an opening position for negotiation...really...

Bluto, if you want to kill it, why start the thread in the first place?

Puzzled
valid question, I can see how my post could be puzzling. I keep hearing this rumor from varied sources and while I hope it doesn't happen, I want to be as well-informed as possible in case it does. So, in effect, I started this thread in the hopes that either no one would respond, or that those who did would state they had heard no such thing.

Big announcement on the 15th.....straight from the donkeys kiester.

If the shoe was on the other foot, how would skywest intergration work at asa? I bet all we would hear on these fourms would be how we "should have been alpa" and here comes the staple. It sure wouldn't be a DOH i know that.

So as I see it, yeah, it sucks. A five to one sucks. So does being owned by a company that is approaching bankruptcy. Really feel for you guys. But, being selfish, I can tell you what, a DOH doesnt work either.

Hold on, its gunna get ugly.

Or enjoy your DOH when MESA buys you.

Good day

I think that a lot of the junior guys at Skywest keep setting themselves up for disappointment. All wishfull thinking is not going to do it. You need to look at history. Given the problems with the SunAire integration back in '84, if there is another buyout, IT WILL BE DOH!

There will be fences, and protection for junior captains, but the integration will be by date of hire. If you passed up upgrade waiting for your ideal domicile, you better get in there quick, or it may be a long time.

If the shoe were on the other foot I would say date of hire , if we merged with Comair I would say date of hire. DOH is the only way it should be NO EXCEPTIONS.

What is an example of a merger with date of hire???

amr/twa???
amr/reno???
southwest/morris???

This is all hypothetical what if's. In this business believe none of what you hear and half of what you see. The reason this thing " won't die" is because people keep bringing it up based on, "well I know some body in the training dept." or "I know somebody who knew somebody ", gimme a break. Give me some facts.

Relax guys- the rumor in Salt Lake would be DOH. (no-one has to "Burn us down!"). Personally- a percentage based integration would be more fair to the younger pilots who Actually chose SKW. Anyway some of us would welcome an ASA merger. Get us an ALPA vote. Let's all just wait and see........

Rumour within a rumour........those are always the most accurate.

We don't need ASA to get an ALPA vote. The results would definitely be different, but I don't want a merger to accomodate our need for a union.

AF
