Why is JetBlue referred to as "B6"???

that is their two letter (or number) Identifier in the OAG----Delta's is DL, etc....Maybe ICAO gives out the two letter identifiers?

From what I have learned....

B6 = IATA code (used with the airline guide/travel agents/reservations etc...)

JBU=ICAO code( used with ATC on the flight strip/release etc.)

WN= IATA for Southwest
SWA= ICAO for Southwest

AJ= IATA for MR. MOM
