This came from the cargo forum. It should serve as an example to the fracs. It can be done.

Dear Crewmembers,

I just received word from Airline Division Director David Bourne that the Amerijet Strike is over. The ratification ballots were just counted and the contract passed overwhelmingly.

Though this is a small pilot group and a first contract that did not break any wage or benefit milestones. This victory demonstrated that when crewmembers work together across union and company lines, anything is possible.

David Basset, the President of Amerijet, vowed to break the union. He has fought for five years to have them decertified. He completely underestimated the groups resolve, but that resolve was bolstered by
the support they received from their fellow union brothers. In other words, this could not have been done without your support whether it was on the line, in spirit, or financial.

Our profession has been in decline for more than thirty years. The activism surrounding this victory causes me to have hope that the
decline is finally over. We have learned as a profession the importance of working together regardless of affiliation, if we stay on this course we are unstoppable and our collective careers will rebound significantly
in the years to come.

Fraternally,

Joe Muckle
President, Teamsters Local 1224

It’s time for Ricci to wipe that stupid grin off his face. It’s time for Tyler to move on to his next union busting job. It’s time for all the kool-aid drinkers to melt into the crowd of pretend supporters.

Congratulations Amerijet!!

Hear! Hear! Kudos to the Amerijet pilots for standing firm! They didn't give up and the Options pilots aren't either. Both groups have been working to improve the situation in their respective industries and have earned the respect of those who believe in fairness and professional treatment/compensation for pilots--whether they fly people or packages. Congratulations to 1224! Hang in there 1108! Regards, NJW

Oh, the times, they are a changin'.

Seriously, they are. The pendulum is finally swinging back toward the workers and away from the managers and the union busters and anyone who would have you believe that you are simply another throwaway commodity. After thirty years of the gradual erosion of the rights of working men and women (remember Reagan's firing of the air traffic controllers? Consider that the opening salvo), people are finally saying, "Enough."

This country is strongest when the middle class is strongest--not, as some would have you believe, the ultra-wealthy.

Bummer I make my living flying those ********************ers around for a living ...

Anyway, congrats to Amerijet pilots for proving it can be done.
