Anyone know who is hiring CRJ CAs off the street with or without seniority surrender?

I heard pinnacle is but haven't had that confirmed.

Thanks.

Pinnacle is hiring off the street CA's... more or less. From what I've heard, when they need some additional CA's they go into a new hire class to see who has the mins and they are made CA's. The last award had 5 off the street CA's. A new vacancy just came out for 30 some CA's and 70 or so FO's. I'd bet that the majority of those CA's will be off the street.

As of lately nobody has been hired to be a captain. Everyone has started class as a new hire FO and upgrades have come while they were in class. While the difference may be slim its a gamble to quit your old job for the "possibility" to be a captain out of training here. In the past six years here upgrades have gone from 3 years down to new hire, back up to 3 years down to new hire again, only to go back to 3 years and yet again we are back at new hire. If you come here for a captain position and are not guaranteed it before you start class be prepared to live on $20.73/hour.

btw: It is Pinnacle's policy for new hires to surrender any other seniority rights they have with other carriers. NW pilots are exempt from this and others have snuck through but that is the standing policy.

Crazy!! How do the 2 year f/O's feel about flying with some guy that comes in off the street and is now a capt? If I were in the right seat I would be resentful, but that's just me.

Probably has something to do with the fact that a lot of those FOs are Gulfstream guys that come over with 200 hours and don't have the mins(1500 for ATP or some higher number that the company imposes) to upgrade. Either way, how they feel about it is immaterial.

They(those who went the 200 hr Gulfstream route) should feel lucky to have a job and bide their time(maybe even learning something along the way) until they do meet the mins!

Apparently Colgan has an ad out for Captains, but they require a 1900 type (obviously these are 1900 Captains).
