Who is going to quit there current job and go fly for a "start-up" airline, on unproven equipment, with an unproven business plan..........?

........probably not me, but i know some of you out there will.


p.s. they dont list specifics about pay, although the website does address benefits.
 
Just make sure you meet the minimums before...

before you quit your current job.

What is the minimum flight experience required for a DayJet pilot?


DayJet minimum pilot requirements include: 3,000 hours total flight time (excluding helicopter, simulator and flight engineer time); 1,000 hours as Pilot-in-Command (PIC); 1,000 hours multi-engine; and 500 hours turbo-jet PIC.
 
With fuel prices going through the roof is an operation like that profitable at all? I hear about how RJ's can't make money anymore because of the limited seating. If you have 3-4 seats open for rev. Your tix prices would be way to expensive for most travelers right?

I agree it isn't necessarily for someone with a family, but if you never risk anything in life, you never really gain anything. Being at the start up of a potentially strong business model may work out to be a good move. By the time there is a "proven plane" and a "proven plan" there could be hundreds of pilots clamoring for a job.

I'm not saying I think it WILL be wildly successful, but if after research there seems to be potential, it could end up being a great move. I would be willing to take the risk, but I actually like being on trips. If you read the website, you are home every night. Hell, if I want a 9-5 job I'll go work for some corporation and make a lot more money.
 
i can't seem to find any hiring information here... but if i did, i'd be willing to take the погружение.
 
About as risky as going to JB or Virgin America . . .

My guess:

1 brand spankn' new CRJ 900 . . . . $25-30 million (?)

1 eclipse jet . . . . 1.2 million, probably ALOT less if purchased in bulk.


Sounds pretty risky to me. Plus a pain. Who wants to be the one to tell the fat guy on the plane it's either him or his go 2 kids who gets to go?

The CEO for DayJets and that CEO of Eclipse aviation were both part of one of the biggest unproven and now one of the most successful business plans ever.

Microsoft....

They can both say, "Been there, done that."
 
According to the website, the pilots get home almost every night, that would make it worth it to me if the pay was decent (can't get much worse than what I'm making now). We'll see if it works out, personally I don't think Joe Public is going to want to fly on an Eclipse.
