Sun Country Airlines is close to being sold, according to court documents filed this week.
In a filing made Monday in the bankruptcy case of former Sun Country owner Tom Petters, trustee Doug Kelley said he "is anticipating accepting a letter of intent from a proposed purchaser shortly."
The name of the potential buyer wasn't disclosed, and neither was a purchase price.
Kelley asked U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Gregory Kishel to seal the name of the potential buyers, their offer and the minimum offer the airline would be willing to accept while the deal is being negotiated. A hearing on the matter is set for Tuesday.
Kelley said his ability to negotiate a price for the sale of the Twin Cities airline "will be hindered" if he can't provide assurance that the price being offered will be accepted by shareholders.

It was listed in a court ordered document so it is available to the public. I wouldn't put much into this info. Some groups have shown some interest, but nothing serious I believe.

Man,you guys aren't even close. Its gonna be Doug Parker. He's gonna do a reverse merger using someone elses money merge it into USAirways and keep the Sun Country name

You heard it hear first !!;)

Whitebox Advisors is a possible lead as to who may purchase the airline. They currently own 44% of Sun Country shares, and they are also equity owners (>5%) in JetBlue Airways. I would not be surprised at all if B6 was a potential buyer in Sun Country.

Funny I once heard an exec at Global joking about buying Sun Country last year. I wonder if there could be any truth to it now.

I just keep my fingers crossed that it is a "well funded" organization that grows the company in a positive way and not completely screw every employee that is currently there. I know - wishful thinking!.

Good luck
