What a dumb ass, we shoud all email the guy. Nothing like some good investigative journalist.

I swear if any member of the press wanted to ask me about anything aviation related. All I'm going to say is "Airplanes is the devil!"

im guessing it was an ercoupe and he just heard it wrong, tard.......

Nothing gets by you.

Earth-Scoop?! Hahaha!!!

To the reporter's credit, though, it sounds like the plane lived up to the name he gave it.

HA HA here is a short email i wrote to them:

I was just wondering what type of morons you have working for your organization. Not only do they get the facts incorrect (1948 Earth-scoop), but here's a free tip "spell check." I invite your company to visit the following link:

Hopefully in the future you will contact AOPA about any aviaiton related new stories so that you get information from a credible source, and not some ill informed rookie.

Sincerely,

A discouraged viewer

They could have reported a H2 Hummer had crashed shortly after takeoff and the vast 99% of the un-aviation oriented public would believe it.
