what exactly is

your question?

"better" in what way?

If "earnings" and "financial health" is your question, JBLU wins that one

Are you doing a project for a financial accounting class or do you simply want to know with which company does a new hire have the best chance at a 25 year career?

Which one of the above looks better? I think they look remarkably similar. The traditional viewpoint that AWA is in trouble is old thinking. AWA looks pretty good now.

The first is AWA. I left out the earnings growth info to make it harder. JB wins on that front hands down, assuming future growth is not overcome by unforseen events.

AWA just announced more airbus deliveries and slow steady growth. Debt/Equity is less attractive at AWA (5 vs. 1.7). That may be the kicker but is hardly a show stopper.

For investment, and possibly interview preference, I like AWA better.

For best career results--research your prospective career AND employer...

Good point, but in this industry, who knows? Short of avoiding US or DAL, you'd be just as right throwing a dart against the wall.
