I just thought I'd start a post to see who is out there and what kind of demographics we have applying to Southwest these days.

Where are you at? What do you fly? How much time do you have? Type or no type?

I would say that every pilot in the country that meets the minimums would be the demographic!! :)

A quick way of conducting the census...

Hey 300RVR,

Look on the left side of the screen and spot the folks that have a 737 type rating and the 737 is not listed under aircraft "experience". You know those folks, myself included, have applied...
My quals

Hey RVR,

I'll bite. I'm a former USMC Hornet, present USNR Goshawk, furloughed AA in between guy. App in FEB 04', HP type FEB 04', no interview yet. Most of my So. Tex squad mates have interviewed with about a 60-70% success rate. The other 30-40% "letter men" left us scratching our heads wondering why. Only a couple of us left in the wing who have not interviewed yet.
That's my scoop. Next.

I will add my 2 cents. Former Military, Commuter Capt, flew for 2 majors, now furloughed, former 135 guy now full time Guard. Applied in Jan 04, interviewed in June and shot down in July. No stink in the old luggage with lots of pull from the inside. Must not have been my day, but it's less than 50% that get hired from the interviews. Competition is fierce and everyone was well qualified.

This is what my alter ego and I have. Since my boss quit I'm not avoiding him anymore.

Don't be so hasty to lump everyone in the same group. While SWA is a fine operation, I have no desire to leave my present employer for SWA or any other airline for that matter. :)

Cheers!

If Dale doesn't make it into the top ten this weekend with all the money UPS is giving Yates, he may never get to drive the Big Brown Truck! Especially with FedEx set to sponsor a car next year.
