It's a special program he has with the FAA where he pays 3 Inspectors $5,000 each, and they allow the DE to add bogus designators under the Type Rating section. (The DE gets ten grand. At $25,000 total, it's not much more expensive, and far less time consuming, than the real types.) There are quite a number of Helicopter Type Ratings. Just like an airplane, you need a Type Rating to fly specific helicopters.
A while back I posted a link to all Type ratings from the Examiners or 8700 Handbook. Do a search if you are intrested.....
