A lot of people I talk to think that ALL of the non-union employees at Delta have taken pay cuts.

I thought the flight attendants had changed their work rules some but did not take a pay cut yet. I am under the impression that none of the other work groups have taken pay cuts yet.

What is the truth with all of the work groups??

Thank you,
Jet

My dad is a gate agent for Delta, and the rumor he has heard for the PSA/Agents for concessions are as follows...
1. 5% pay cut.
2. Less coverage on medical bennies.
3. One week of vacation less a year.
4. 5 less paid holidays for the year.

all hear-say, but thats what he has heard.

Correct, they have not taken these cuts, but this is what the gate agents have been saying between themselves, and what they have heard thru the flow of rumors. Time will tell though whats about to happen.

Why would the agents have to take cuts?

Everyone knows the pilots are to blame for getting Delta into this mess.

Rode in on the employee bus with 3 SENIOR DAL F/As....

Talking amongst themselves and an OAL F/A....

You could hear the contempt in their voices when they talked about their pilot group......
Typical crap..... 50 year and 60 year old career F/As upset about pilot pay....

Another reason to encourage a Singapore Airlines type work agreement for F/As.....

There are still a few good ones, but as a group, the Delta F/A's suck. And they get well paid to suck. I honestly believe Delta would have better F/A's if we cut their pay in half, and got it back to where a F/A was not a career position. Do it for a few years, see the world, then move on. But you won't make a lot of money. Too many of our F/A's are holding on for retirement, doing the absolute bare minimum to get by.

I am a DL F/A. We as a group have already taken concessions this year. Starting with a major cange in our sick leave policy. We no longer get paid fopr trips missed while sick. We now receive 5.30hrs/day of sick leave for a max of 27.30hrs for7 days. This "non-certified" time.We have 10 noncertified days int he bank per year. Once you hit 8 days you go on STD and go into the "certified" bank.
I have been sick under this new policy and it is not good. I missed two international trips in a row. For the first one I got paid 16.30hours for a 3day trip that was worth 19.30hours.Approxiametly $170 gross pay loss. The next one put me over 8 days sick so for that one I was paid 3 days of STD at 100% FAE/day which grossed me $456 for a trip which would have grossed $1030. Talk about paycut!!

We also now have a blended pay. The rate was based on 75 hour average. Tehy blended our base and hourly pay to come up with the new pay rate which is strictly on a per flt hr basis. I am not overly affected by this cange as I can not fly high time due to childcare issues. Thise tat normally fly high time are finding themselves flying approxiametely 5 hours more to earn the same as before. I.E. if they flew normally 85 hours thay now have to fly ~90hrs to get the same pay. If you fly 75 hours or less you make the same if not a little more but those flying more than 75 hours have to fly more toget the same pay.

There was also the change in the insurance amount that we have to pay. Those are said to be increasing again as well.

So in conclusion, the F/A's at DL have taken pay and benefit concessions this year with more to come.

Thanks skybabe,

I had heard that it was work rule changes and that they affected your pay and you confirmed that. I hope the flight attendants and all Delta employees including the pilots aren't forced to give up much in the future. Good luck with everything at Delta. You're in my prayers.

How can Delta be losing $$

I don't understand why Delta is short on cash ??

It cant' be from the FA making $56+/hour (rate from his/her $170 gross pay loss). Yeah, the Pilots are making too much !! Nice business model. .

Mo,

Skybabe took the time to answer somebody's question and you basically flame her. Real nice.

Had the flight attendants voted in a union a couple years back, they would have had the ABILITY to try to tkeep some of what they just lost. Instead, they "trusted" the company, and now they are angry. I can understand them being angry though, but they have little or no recourse. The mechanics are in the same boat, along with the ground people. They will unfortunately get whatever management wants them to get.

A lot of them (non pilots) have had changes to their retirement and health premium increases apparently. We too will have those same cuts, and then added direct pay cuts on top of that. I don't know what the % pay cut will be for the other employees, but I suspect ours will be near 30%.

Bye Bye--General Lee

Vo,

First of all, nice pic.

No flame intended. It was not meant as a personal attack on an individual, just an observation of an extremely high payrate for the FAs in general. We'd all like to make as much as possible at any job we perform. But realistically, there is NO way any FA job is worth that much pay. I'm not picking on FA's personally, just the job itself. Look throughout the entire labor industry, where else can you make that rate for essentially an entry level job that requires a few days of initial training on basic concepts and no degree whatsoever. Again, not trying to flame, but that job was intended to last a few years at best and then to be recycled -- not a career.

Are your people having second thoughts about needing a Union now? If I remember correctly, you voted it down twice in the last 4 years or so.
