From the top of my head...

1. Air Wisconsin is NOT on the front page of the USA Today.

2. ?

Any ideas?

S.

we can only hope this, our CO operation, and the CLE incident is the wakeup call our management so seriously needs.

I hate to say it, but I've left passengers behind on a divert twice and saw TWA do it 10 years ago. Shuttle is not the first to do this (as implied in the article).

It appears the United is really the one that dropped the ball on this one. But employees of RAH will be the first to admit that things are starting to unravel, and the company's inadequacies are showing (in a very public way, no less). It is a big company with a small-company infrastructure and mindset, and cheapskate management. Sure the shareholders love it, but at some point the employees and passengers will need to say enough is enough. Mesa appears to have reached that point...I'm sure RAH is next.

It's too bad they left out all the potential mishaps at the F-gates in ORD...Maybe they are saving those for another day

Do you honestly think UAL was unaware of this? We are United's bitch, we do their bidding, as do Mesa, SkyWest, etc.. UAL had bigger fish to fry on this day and wanted the aircraft repo'd! There were other incidents during this time frame, with other codeshares - the mainline partners were the ones calling the shots!!

Having said that, BB and Heller/JC need a kick in the nuts! They need to wake up and staff the pyramid properly - or else the house of cards will come crashing down. Oh, and by the way, stop fukcing with the pilots!

That's hilarious. What did the passengers expect when they paid $249 for a round trip airline ticket. You get what you pay for.

Not sure if this is really realted but ... with all the press the airlines have been getting the last few days it seems like they want more of a story on us.

We had a pax today trying to video tape the flight. Using best judgement I don't think it was in a threatening way but more so hey look at what goes on during delays, ect. We told him to shut it off. He argued that it does not say anything about not being able to video tape a flight, ect. He eventually shut it off but I just found it a little odd.

It only took two months for this story to surface, and surprisingly its right after Jet Blue's incident. Things that make you go hmmmm.......

I think the worst part of this is the passangers had to deal with United phone customer service. It is a joke trying to talk to someone in India. I cringe everytime that I have to call to check a load or list for a jumpseat. Alamo rental car is the same.

This story is all political B.S.. They will be running a lot of these articles for the next couple of weeks to get publicity for the new airline law they are trying to get passed. The article was written just for that. If passengers think about it do they really think their crew and airplane will sit at an airport for 2 and a half days until they reopened the airport. Airlines have schedules to fly.

Newspapers are a business and just like anyone else, all they want is to sell more papers. But I agree, I predict within a year in the USA Today there will be a Section E featuring airline news and nothing else.

Most reporters will never see the big picture. Yeah United was in a bad spot with Denver being closed. But because they decided to strand the passengers there and move the planes where they are needed, they subverted a JetBlue-esque meltdown story of their own.

It's like all the movies where they are at the brink of war and have a dilemma. Do we sacrifice a few to save many? United sacrificed a few whereas JetBlue tried to please everybody. Just cancel your #!@$!#$ flights and get on with it.

I love the employee reservation line.

"Please state your airline name"

"Atlantic Southeast Airlines"

"I'm sorry, I could not understand you. Did you say "Air Zimbabwe?"

"No, Atlantic Southeast Airlines"

"I'm sorry, I could not understand you. Did you say "Atlantic COAST Airlines?"

"click"

Well, that's a little better than saying you work for TSA and having it say, "I think you meant GoJet Airlines."

Ya, what's the new rule they want to pass, no more than 3 hours sitting time before they have to give 'em a free lunch?

My favorite line of the day (from an AM talk radio host): "All they could offer was a $25 dollar voucher. That won't even come close buying the $200 round trip ticket from L.A. to New York."

People just don't realize how far the airline industry is bending over to keep costs low for passengers.

I hope representatives from my cable company were some of those passengers stranded on these flights.

"We are currently experiencing flight outtages in.....New York.....Cheyanne.......Denver. Thank you for your patience." Click

Oh sweet justice.

"Tears filling his eyes, Roger Barbour watched in disbelief as two United Express jets took off without him just before Christmas at the Cheyenne airport in Wyoming."

I wonder how many times that's happened to jumpseaters?

Thoughts on the article:

Passengers crying is a bit much.... worse things happen to real people...

The entire time the Cheyenne deal was going down, the front line employees were the crews... time to empower them? opps sorry what was I thinking...

Did u see where it says that one airline after any flight is delayed more than an hour, the CEO is notified? WTF?
