Holy Sh!t

I was always glad I wasn't an F-16 pilot - now I have so many more reasons.

I'm sure current and former members of the 8th FW and 35th FS are so proud right now.

Obviously these men were not able to handle their year long remote tour in Korea very well. We should get them some help.

Are you serious? Why would anyone snuff out a career over something like this. It's not exactly the Tailhook scandal... it's a stupid video about something that we actually all probably get (schwety balls)!
 
I don't know about the AF, but in the Army we made stupid videos also as jokes for dining "ins". All in good fun and competion as to who could make the best video to laugh at.
 
We did the same thing, but that was before Al Gore invented the internet.

They were never as funny as that was though!!!
 
Like SIG said, that's pretty lame that there were jobs lost over this. Don't get me wrong, it's a dumb video, but ending careers? It's time to take the stick out, fellas.

Can anyone else verify the claim that these guys got hosed for this video. I highly doubt this claim. Even pin head Generals have a sense of humor. I have seen teflon guys get DUIs without effecting their careers.
 
Video is a couple years old. I'm sure the PCS and 3 x commander changes since then have kept them out of trouble.

ROE: Cameras NEVER go TDY, to callsign parties, or any other events considered "ritualistic". Even the straight "documentary" stuff can get blown out of proportion. Remember how AGAST the media was at a "blood winging" ceremony a few years back for some guys? Yeah--it looked a little brutal--but EVERY dude in the room with a bloody chest WANTED to be there. Just another reason to ditch the camera/camcorders...
 
About 12 years ago there was an infamous video from a VQ crew party poolside at the Citra in Baharain; it ended up on CNN, along with lots of red face for the front office! :0 "They did what?!"
 
Well there are different kinds of videos out there. Ones that are done with the intention of comedy, and the ones that showcase peoples alcohol induced stupidity. Both extremely entertaining :)
 
Years ago, we had a bachelor party for one of the guys in the squadron at another bubba's house. Lots of liquor and fine entertainment so it got pretty out of hand. One of the JO's brought along a video camera for posterity. When it came time for the Skipper and XO to politely exit, the boss motions the for the the guy with the camera. He calmly opens it up pulls out the tape and yanks every last inch (no pun intended) of tape out of the cassette.

If that was made in Korea, it makes perfect sense then. LORs for that is way too extreme though, especially for anyone having to do a remote in Korea.
 
What's up Rice? btw, my 7 yo daughter was looking over my shoulder the other day, read your signature line and busted up laughing! Of course she doesn't understand the context from Tailhook, but she still thought it was funny on its own accord.

Wish I did! :laugh: It may be floating around on the net, but I haven't bothered to look for it. If I remember, it happened mid 94, about 6 -12 months months before I got to the squadron, while it was still based in Guam. Let's just say the incident was discussed in pre-det briefings...
