Which abbreviation for Aircraft Type do you use in your logbook?

The way you file? (H25A, SW3)

OR

Manufacturer abbreviation (HS125, SA226)

ONLY fill in by Manufacturer Abbreviation.

This will show your knowledge and anything else may catch the eye of a sharp interviewer and keep you from that big job.

No seriously,

why? who cares?

anyone except me think this board would be better off without polls?

:( :(

If'n it's over 12,500 I just write: Biggun

Seriously though I use the manufacturers designation. i.e SA227 vs SW3.

Personal preference. I am not sure it matters one way or the other. Except maybe at a United interview, and that's sort of moot right now.

Considering those tiny little boxes in the little red book, BE1 fits a heck of alot better than BE1900D. But be careful dude, your entire career hinges upon this decision, better get it right.

I think it was an honest question that kinda falls in line with a million other examples on the board. Not fearing for his job, I think the guy just said, I'm just curious, and i know what group of people if any would be able to answer a question about a mundane detail. I think MetroSheriff got the point.....

Just got to thinkin', how about drawing a picture of the a/c in question. If nothing else it would be unique.

Wow who's the yahoo that is digging up the polls again.

I figure I have two cents to comment on this thread. It really depends on what information you need to extract from the logbook latter on.

For example my insurance company doesn't really care about the different models of Cessnas that I fly, they have do care if my 25 hours is in a S-2A, B or C

Same thing with complex high performance singles, and twins, they suddenly seem to care if you have it in a Be-56 or 58. Kind of stupid, but you log based on who needs to be able to read you log book latter on.
