Both the 10 year MSP captains whose slots were cancelled were senior enought to bid Xmas off anyway. Doesn't ease the pain for them but you don't have to worry about them starting 4 day trips on Dec 23rd. If your senior enough to hold Xmas Vacation slots you are senior enough to bed Xmas off anyway.

In Trans States Airlines we get junior for an overnight in your day off..
Happy Holidays

Put down your purses 90, boilermaker and 2bits you guys really need to give it a rest. It is amazing the way you act on these boards. Every pilot that I have met from Comair/AWAC/ASA/ACA (does that sum up those that have better pay rates?) are good people and I have had many a good time on overnights with them without any such comments or attitudes. It always amazes me the things that some of you say in an anonymous forum. Have you ever actually confronted a pilot with your feelings?

Maybe we can all take a lesson from the majors board. These guys are losing their careers and I have yet to read a post slamming another pilot group.

This is the only regional I have ever worked for and was impressed that they voluntarily give out Christmas bonuses. All of our companies seem to be profiting and I was just wondering if this was a common thing.

Anyhow, I hope everyone has a good holiday season and a happy new year.
Think before you post......A lot of us are getting furloughed and it is obvious that you don't have a clue about where the industry is as a whole....Some of us will be going BACK to Iraq (or Mc Donalds) and the last thing we care to see is someone appearing to flaunt the his or hers minor achievements. My bonus will be unemployment followed by volunteering for active duty again.....

The CHQ "Christmas Bonus" is not really a Christmas bonus. It is a profit sharing disimbursement given at the end of the year.

For a pilot with about 5 years seniority making about 60000-65000/year, the $2000 disimbursement turns out to be a little more than a 3% profit sharing disimbursement.

Incidently, that is the same minimum amount of profit sharing that the new ExpressJet contract pays out.

The difference is, in CHQ's case, this payout is not expressly written in its contract. However, this "bonus" payout has been given consistently at the end of the year for the past several years.

FlyingHorses,

Please! Please! Please! tell me where in Contract 2004 or the XJT profit sharing documentation, that the profit sharing is in any way going to be at least 3%. Maybe if the company terminates it we will get a three percent pay raise, but they can always just pay 0% instead of terminating the plan.

I can't find a minimum profit sharing percentage or dollar amount anywhere, but then again I can't read as good as a Poor Silly Yes Voter.

Christmas - Oh yeah, that is the three day trip I get assigned every year with two legs and hour and a half of pay for being on the road for half a week over a holiday.

Nice thing about the ATR was that you never got stuck so far away that you could not rent a car and drive all night to get home :)
