We will need to repo the plane after a drop in the South of France for a little more than a week. Any sugestions on where stay between France and Italy to have the most fun and the best Hotels. I done the Nice thing.....Thanks!!!!

france ??

I would take a easyjet or ryanair flight to Amsterdam! :D

How much do you want to spend, and what would you like to do for recreation?
Shopping, sightseeing, hot young ladies, beautiful views, sports, what's your preference?
I've driven from Toulon to Camogli, so I might be able to make a worthy recommendation.
I'll tell you, it's hard to go wrong.
And which language do you know more of - Italian or French?

Nice is for the poor folks, try Canes or Monte Carlo

Can't beat the Amalfi Coast. Fly to Naples and hit Sorrento, Capri (awesome island) and Positano in succession - close and easy to do in a few days. Hmmmmm - I can just taste that Italian gelato...

Hmmm, France or Italy..........My answer would be to stay in Germany or Amsterdam as someone else suggested!!!

repo

Northern Italy, Bergamo. Neat little town ( not to small) on a beautiful lake. Bergamo is a DHL base, good runway, airport facilities. Is right near the border of Switzerland, France, and Germany I believe so kind of located in a good spot.

Good Luck

Why not try Palma or Ibiza if you have a choice?

If your dropping off in Nice and want a quick reposition, you can try Genoa and drive to Portofino in about 45 minutes. Leows has a great hotel there and there are many others as well. Could be pricey depending on the time of the year. St Margarite is also very nice. If you need to you can drive back to Mont Carlo in about 3 hours. You won't be dissapointed. Genoa has pretty good fuel prices and they can handle just about anything. Do not recomend Genoa as it is dirty and the hotels are pretty shabby.

I like Firenze (Florence). In my view, it's the art capitol of Italia.

Of course if you want to witness the terrible privation endured by dangerously young women who can't afford complete swimsuits, you could take VVJM265's suggestion of going to Palma Majorca, Ibiza or Fromentera.

I have to put my vote in for spain. Especially Ibiza.....getting soap squirted on you with girls dancing is not bad way to relax

Why not stay in Naples? That way you'll appreciate every other place in Europe that is less of a $h!thole!!!

Sorry, couldn't help myself.

BTW, I'd rather go just about anywhere OTHER than ANYWHERE in Italy. (Catania was pretty nice but I don't consider that Italy... ;) )TC

LOL that is funny!

Don 't you love how the Italains keep the place clean! I especially like the graffitti.

In August they might not even let you park the airplane for more than 1/2 hour.

says guys who's seen only the airport area!

Italy is the best place to stay in Europe! Sure there is Greece, Southern Spain,Portugal,Southern France.....

If you want good prices, good food, hot women, etc... anywhere in Italy is good!

If you can choose anywhere in europe, lets see!
Holland is good for Whores! Germany good for beer and hairy women! France good for Gay people, like Sweden! Eastern europe good for cheap prices, might want to check poland, slovacks for whores, and history! Norway good in many things but very expensive! Finland good in anything, cheap, good women, alcohol....Similar with Denmark.

You can also go and jump mediterranian to Tunis,Marocco, if you want to be upset.

I know I am from there!

coffeepilot has never seen the swedish women so he wouldn't understand.

Eh Milan- That place is a dump. I get nightmares thinking about that place. The hilton is nice but the trainstation next to it watching people shoot up is something i could have done without.

I will agree with coffe about the food in Italy. It is the best.

FYI I have seen more than the airports as well!

Don't even consider Naples, beside being a dump, you can't park there. Florence is awesome and if ramp parking is available, its 150Euro a night, if there is no ramp parking you can get hangar parking for 500Euro a night. An awesome city in Italy is Perugia. It's about 1 hour drive south of Florence..they got parking, and beautiful little town..Hotel Brufani Palace, the place to stay. 2 days is all you need to see Perugia...
rent a car and cover the whole Umbria and Tuscany sections of Italy..you won't be disappointed. The food in Northern Italy is the best in the world.

Yes Napoli can be a dump, OK is a dump, but it does have some hidden charms. I lived there for 2.5 yrs and also near Catania for 2.5 years so I can speak first hand.

If you're hell bent on going to Italy and want the good eyeball liberty (etc, etc) then go to Olbia on Sardinia. The down side is that for the next 4-5 weeks pretty much anywhere in southern Europe is going to be jammed packed, especially the beaches. Have fun!

Well if it is during the last week of September I highly recommend Munich, definitely worth the drive.
