I was there not too long ago. Stayed at a Hilton property (British ??? Hilton). Was nice, and next to Senor Frogs....but not much of a beach.

Senor Frogs was the place to be. We were there the night of a couple of cruise ships (Carnival) and that place was a good time.

I have heard that across from Atlantis is another cheaper hotel that you can stay cheap, but still get access to Atlantis.

Thats all I got for Nassau....other than I hear that crime is up. Be careful.

Nassau sucks...

British Colonial Hilton is an OK place..downtown at least.

Try and stay at Atlantis - at least you can hot the bars and casino.

Avoid Cable Beach - its a real cesspool.

Also avoid walking around at night, MYNN is rather nasty.

What do you mean by nasty? Nasty can be good sometimes lol... Love ya Vegas!

If you're on Paradise Island, walk across the bridge to Potters Cay, the straw market with the brightly colored shacks and walk around. You can get beers and food at different ones. Make sure you hit Uncle Tellis' conch stand and get the wild boar if he has it. Tellis is a nice guy and was featured on the front page of the USA Today Money section in January in an article about the economy affecting tourism. If you have a grill, you can buy a fish from other vendors and bring it back with you. With your back toward Atlantis, take a left along Eastern Road, and the first dirt parking lot you come to usually has a family or two selling conch and fresh caught fish.

Senor Frogs is where all the drunk cruise girls go. Make sure you hit Crazy Johnnies as well.

In my opinion the best thing to do in Nassau is leave. I've stayed at the Hilton by Senor Frogs, too. It's alright. But for if I were there for a week I would consider repositioning the airplane to somewhere in Florida and staying there or abandoning the airplane and airlining home. Back when I was in and out of the Bahamas more regularly we would rarely stay there or leave the airplane there.

Have stayed at the Hilton. Not impressed. Last time I was there the water was turned off for a day. Had to use the pool for taking a bath. Beach is small and right next to cruise ship docks. Sandals on Paradise Island might be an option for you. All inclusive. The Hilton is right next to all of the watering holes and the straw market. Easy walking. Cable beach is interesting and you are subject to an "eye full". European style of beach wear. Topless.
Best wishes on your trip..

The Comfort Suites across from the Atlantis is owned by the Atlantis. You can stay there for <$200 per night and have free full access to all of the Atlantis stuff, including room charging, etc...If you can't swing Atlantis or Comfort Suites, re-position to Florida...

I was there last week. For several years I have stayed at Colonial Hilton. NO MORE! The hotel is OK, but the area around it has gone down. When you walk out the front door of the Hilton you are in a very bad area. Before I left the parking lot people tried to sell me drugs, women, watches, etc. Walked 4 blocks and never did see a policeman. Don't know if I'd even trust a cop there.
Next time I will stay either at Cable beach or across from Atlantis.
