Does anybody have any advice on where to get a DC-3 type? Anywhere in the US is fine. Also looking for a program that is less than 8 days.

Thanks

DC3 Info

2step,

Check out www.douglasdc3.com

This is one of the most comprehesive dc3 sites out there. Scroll to the bottom of the home page to find what interests you.

Let me know how the type goes. The DC3 type has been something I've interested in for a long time. Unfortunately my wife has other ideas on how to spend the money;)

Bill

PS Great profile

Not sure if they are in business anymore (I know that the GA part of the operation has been sold), but MC Flyers at EVB/Spruce Creek (7FL6) offered DC-3 instruction, price was about $900 an hour through.

The operation was based at Spuce Creek, but the DC-3 was at EVB. Now the GA aircraft are at Massey Ranch (X50).

I highly recommend it if you can come up with the cash. I flew a 3 for a little over 3 years and have 1,000 hours in it. It's still the best all around airplane I've ever flown. I miss it.

I have no idea what a type rating course would cost.

Phone number for the DC-3 in Denton, TX. 817 430 1905

And it turns out it is a Super 3

DC-3 Type in aircraft for cheap in a day or 2

Anyone else seen the red and tan DC-3 that is into VRB from time to time? Total refurbished job, pristine... owned and flown by a former NWA Capt.

Just a beauty....

THAT is an airplane!

I got my type through John Pappas in Corona California. John owns and manages Dream Flight. He does a great job with intial type training.

Check into the Prarie Air Museum at Bloomington, IL. I think they have a DC-3 avail for types. It's painted up old school Ozark Airlines style. They have a website, but forgot... Google it. Have fun, wish I could join ya.

$1400 per hour? D*mn!! 4-7 hours for the type. This info from the Prairie Air Museum.
