Where is Virgin "America"?

It has been seen in financial articles that Richard Branson is planning to start a LCC in June 2004. My question is.......where is it now? If he is planning on starting in June 2004, it would seem to me things would need to be happening, hiring going on, training, certificate action, plane orders etc for such a short time frame. Does anyone have any answers?

But dont be surprised if the virgin tags up with a current carrier looking for a low cost carrier image. (The folks at ACA are probably hoping it might be them. And rightfully so.)

I do agree with you however, this close to the projected start up date..it would be difficult to start something now....but who knows anymore. Wilder things have happened.

"pitching" or "catching" on that "M"...Anyway, I know that Mesa employees aren't your favorites, but here goes anyhow.... Virgin A is supposed to be called Virgin Red and is now tentatively scheduled to start in LAS. JO has been involved, monetarily more than operatonally, mainly because he ran Virgin Express in the mid-90's @ BRU and well Branson bud. Branson is VERY anti-union......... Look for a few ex-National types to be involved as well a Texas Pacific Group. (were my source is) Most likely A/C is 737NG's. BTW If JO, is involved, please bring your own lube.......Cheers.....a proud NO voter.
