Never had to do it there. Curious where winter morning deicing gets done when it needs to be done.

Thanks for the info!

6N and 6S after a VERY LONG WAIT

6 south and some of the taxiways around Intl. It is an absolute freaking mess-even under the best of circumstances.

-Is is not an exaggeration to state that ATL's icing plan is : "Shut the whole place down entirely, so that we do not cause injury to ourselves or others."

Wal-mart brand antifreeze is microwaved in a coffee pot. Then they poor it in a hand pumped bug sprayer, and hose down your windshield.

Any questions?

Thanks for the info, gang. That's about what I thought.

Really what happens is that they delay you on the taxiway long enough hoping that the sun will melt the frosts. The de-ice trucks you see are actually inflatable dummies!

In reality though, I've yet to have any sort of deicing event in ATL where they haven't run out of fluid. It really is a cluster F^&$!!!!

I was once number 42 or so to De-ice and they told us it would be about 6 hours-flight cancelled because we would have timed out
