This goes out to anyone willing to point me in the right direction, I would like to fly FO for a corp flight dep. I have 1850 TT with 300 Multi CFI. I'm DOA right now and I need the De Fib to get my career going. Any help would be a start in the right direction. Thanks ...

network a LOT!

call around to local flight departments, but DO NOT stop by unannounced these days - most dont like that anymore for some stupid reason.

Be sure to look professional, remember who you talk to, and check in with them periodically. Find that fine line of being visible but not annoying. Look the part. dont bring in resumes to a fortune 10 company wearing jeans or cowboy boots.

Get on those 135 charter operators. They like hard working dedicated guys (read:slaves) They also love local guys. Offer your services on a contract basis for aircraft you are qualified in - but never do it for less than avergage or god forbid never do it for free! - no better way to blackball yourself than that. The 135 operators are a great way to get that first type rating and more contacts to move on quickly.

Where are you located? dont tell us bumscrew, Iowa and you are trying to get a corporate gig......be where the jobs are.

Rememeber, things are fairly slow now but I have heard of people hiring. Keep in mind many corporate operatos will be having many Vietnam era retirees in the next few years, so be persistant.

Best of luck to you.

PS - the defib wont put out a shock if you are DOA...:D :D

Good post "200".

I second the 135 thing. I know some who started in jets by flying freight at night.

Good luck!

located in Minneapolis

I'm in the Twin Cities doing flights in and around class B along withXC time. Just trying to make contact with any one really...
you're as young as the women you feel

Most of the guys I know who've landed rides with low time got the ride by working line service. The line guys at my FBO have about as much turbine time as gas-pumping time. I know I drag guys along on lots of our flights.
