Had a FedEx jumpseater last week who claimed sometime after the first of the year, any better guesses? Anyone know how many apps on file? Any other FedEx info, or even any imaginitive BS, would be welcomed!!!!!!

Although dated some, there are roughly 6500 profiles on hand right now. Most people I have talked to, say or have heard, that March is about when things will get cranked back up again.
Good luck.

Does anyone have any idea what would be competitive in todays environment for the Fedex profiles-for military and non military?

Also is it a great benefit to have names and employee numbers for Fedex employees listed on the profile-even if they are not accompanied by an internal letter of rec?

The reason I am asking is I have one that is from a Fedex line pilot and one is from a Fedex pilot in their coporate avn dept that does not have access to the online internal letters of rec.

Appreciate any advice.

best guess

The apps on file are about the 6500 as slowdriver has stated. Probably the best recommendation (FedEx employee numbers) would be from line pilots, but ANY (corp/line) pilot would be better than none. I walked a resume into Jack Lewis (Chief Pilot) for my #1 guy and was told by Jack that he (my friend) would be put into the "call" pile. That was August and my friend has not been called as of yet. My guy: Military C-130, IP & flight examiner, 5500 hrs, 3000 PIC, retiring this Jan. I had similar numbers in July 01 when I interviewed. No idea on civilian numbers, but probably need something close w/ today's job market. If your bud (line guy) can get your resume to Jack, I think your chances would be better.

Feb or March for interviews to start & window to open, at least that is the rumor on the bus.

hope this helps,

g'luck.... rip
