Should be interesting. $16 hr does not pay for much in HNL. They will be very popular individuals with the Hawaiian and Aloha guys.

They'll have the whole pilot group sharing one, 1 bedroom apartment.

More like Ewa Beach or Kalihi. Waikiki is gonna be too expensive for them.

Yep a one bedroom in Kuhio

Anything below Kuhio is going to be rough. Don't see how Ewa or Kalihi is going to be any cheaper. Hope they put that "Cost of Living" clause, for Hawaii crews, in their next contract.

Perhaps the beach park out by Dillingham.Price would be right and they could supplement some income with work as extras on Lost.

The waves at Sunset will be a little different than Daytona's

I'VE GOT IT! A'ALA PARK! Interesting neighbors, and some killer skateboarding. Not to mention the Mahu's and crack dealers.

Just like when Mesa/FloridaGulf had crews based on Nantucket Island. Except I think it was $7.50 per duty hour to start back then. ACK gets pretty expensive in the summer.

Dont worry Mr. O will take care of them. Just like his remarks he's made to the media here locally- "The local carriers use profits from the inter-isle operation to supplement thier money losing trans-pac service".
and other ones like-"The decision to enter the inter-isle market IS NOT tied to Aloha's current state"- ETC... ETC....

He might have a fight on his hands now that he cant keep his BIG MOUTH SHUT.

Anyone who heard Mark Dunkerly's remarks today will agree that Hawaiian has just opened a big 'ol can of "Wup Ass" on JO and Mesa. There is no way that Mesa is going to get a look at the inside of HAL because of Gutboum's folly and then turn around and try to compete in the Hawaii market. With POS 50 seat RJ's to boot.

JO has said that 4 airlines can't exist in Hawaii. Is he telling the people of Hawaii that their friends and family who work for Aloha, Hawaiian, and Island Air deserve to lose jobs to let him come in and lose money?!

Bottom line, there is no business model for profitability with an RJ operator without a fee-per-departure tie in.

The fight is joined!

Its expensive all year around in Hawaii, whether its $7.50 or $16.00/hr. Good luck with the 17 other room mates.

I have been waiting for the big guns at HAL to enter the beef. New article just hit the AP wire tonight.

Looks like the big mouth CEO isnt answering any more phone calls or e-mails today.

Allow me to quote Sun Tsu.

# All warfare is based on deception.

# Hence, when able to attack, we must seem unable; when using our forces, we must seem inactive; when we are near, we must make the enemy believe we are far away; when far away, we must make him believe we are near.

# Hold out baits to entice the enemy. Feign disorder, and crush him.

# If he is secure at all points, be prepared for him. If he is in superior strength, evade him.

# If your opponent is angry, seek to irritate him.

# If he is taking his ease, give him no rest.
If his forces are united, separate them.

# Attack him where he is unprepared, appear where you are not expected.

Here is his personal e-mail... Time to irritate him. Let him have it! [email protected]

Thank you

Haoles? How about Mahu?........come to think of it that'd be a pretty decent callsign for them.

Is Mesa really worthy of a posting in the Major section?

Baja.

Yes because they are a Virus which infects mainline pilots

maybe JO will hook the pilots up with a place to stay at KPT.

.

Well dont make it too hard for them to find those cheap rentals. Spell it out Kuhio Park Terrace.

What a deal! Right on the waterfront of Kalihi Stream and everything. Its like the shangri la compared to some of mesa's crew hotels.

Should be a real blast for all the mesa guys trying to jumpseat home on HA.
HP's 757's are always oversold or restricted.

JO never can or will keep his mouth shut.
He has short mans syndrome.......

Peace.

you got to be real ballsy to go ask Hawaiian for a ride these days if you're a mesa pilot, (and to be fair, vice versa)

A little head's up please.

Would someone be kind enough to give me a little advance warning before these mesa assclowns show up out here so I can put the wheels back on my vehicle and move to a new park. I don't need them as neighbors.f

I was in line renewing my HNL SIDA badge and met some Mesa rampers appplying for their background checks. They're coming, friends! Aloha and Hawaiian guys, please do your best push JO back to the mainland. I'd try to help, but I don't think the RJ can make it to Tokyo (Midway, perhaps).

sweet. I was hoping that HAL's lawsuit wouldnt scare them away. JO's beatdown needs to be much more severe to have any lasting effect.

Bring them up to the North Shore for a good ole surf time with the locals.

it will be dangerous enough for them in the inter island concourse

Inter island concourse??? It'll be 10 times dangerous living in KPT....
