Yea...that wasn't very nice

hey flyboyphil.......if you do the JFK thing, look at eastern/northeastern PA. Cheap and 1.5 or less to JFK. You could then moonlight at Dunder Mifflin for some extra scratch.........

Under the "age 35" so I am thinking I will be an E190 guy, does anyone have any good info and current schedules and current reserve times (how many months to get off it). I am also a little curious what a schedule looks like on the E190 these days (How many legs per day), any info would be great. See ya on the 9th!

What is this "virtual base" business you speak of? It almost sounds like I could sit at home in my boxers in front of my computer and will the passengers from point A to B.quote]

Actually that would be our Reservations Department.

the 190 is fun. Still have a few kinks in the AC with software playing nicely with other software.

We're getting longer legs on it now, so the trips are becoming more productive. The cool part is that we stay with the whole crew for the whole trip. The Bus doesn't (most of the time)...they'll change FAs almost every leg.

The only thing I really don't like is the small flight deck. can't get up and stand/stretch. Gotta take a break and step out enroute to do that. Super easy to fly.

AWWW that's so cute.

E-190 Flying

Well it's okay, but you will do more legs than the Bus. Typical out of JFK or Bos is 4 legs per day ( Not always but in a 4 day trip 2 soft and 2 very productive days ). You will do alot of BOS-IAD, JFK, RIC turns and short layovers. But all in all not too bad. Although brother Bus is much different. It's all about lifestyle and where you live+ quality of life

I am going outside the box on this one but my buddy over there truley belives it will be ORD by mid 09? Personally I do not see anyone getting enough gates to support a base.

Sligo

They using you much out of BOS....I'm coming up in Feb.

As far as bases and everything else this is my 2cents.

In ORD the other day asked the station manger what was going on their and he said 2 new cities. Had Fleet manger on the jump seat and said a new focus city coming sometime soon.

What's your buddy selling a nickle bag for these days?

Dude that's not just outside the box, that's outside the laws of physics.

That's the funnies Shizzit I've heard in awhile. I'm sure United and American won't mind just moving on over and giving us some gate space..... HAAAAAAA

Just wait until the a330's come on line.. Airbus is getting bunch that will come back off lease early that will be replaced by the a350 when they come on line

Insider info says that airbus is going to lease them to us at cost just to keep them off their books due to poor financial numbers due to a380 delays and that fact that airbus trades based on the us dollar..

That means that we may see some shiny low time 330's with jb painted on the side and of course just like every jb plane out there we will not have to pay for them, the mx, or the fuel they burn.

should be perfect for out super profitable carribean flights and give us the cargo capacity that keeps bulking out on current flights with the 320..

Plus they will come in handy for the major international codeshare to be announced in the next year just about the time that our new terminal is finished and our existing terminal is vacated.

JB even has some sim instructors in 330 school as we speak

I live in Orlando, ..... anyone know how to find out when they have those open houses at the training center in mco

You watch for a bunch of guys in suits nervously standing around at the airport waiting for the JetBlue shuttle bus!
I heard about the one I attended on Flightinfo, then called JetBlue to confirm it, had to be passed around a bit to finally get in touch with the training center and confirm. You could also call and ask for H.R. and see if they will tell you.
Good luck.. I think the contacts I made and interest I showed by attending made the difference and got me the job..
Phil
