Hearing a bit about MCO as a new base? Austin down the road? Maybe a stupid question- but what about a newbie staying somewhere where shorts can be worn 75% of the time versus JFK/BOS?

Any other insights about JB would certainly be appreciated...look into that crystal ball, thanks....

As the 190 fleet continues to grow and as the full effects of the slots are felt at JFK the 190 flying will move more to BOS and after about another 10 to 15 190s being added to the fleet it will be big enough for further expansion. I have heard the rumors (which is all they are) about AUS, also IAD a possible 190 base. But with in two years you could be down in FLL on the bus no problem if things (I know for those of you need to point it out every ten seconds that fuel is $100 or more the economy and all that other good stuff could effect it) stay like they have been over the last year considering 5-8% growth. Right out of training though expect JFK or BOS on the 190. Hopefully that helps.

What rumors are you hearing about Austin? That is interesting in that Jetblue only has what, 4 daily flights out of AUS? What cities? Crew base? wow! That would be nice and I would imagine the most senior base in the system. Of course, I'm biased......

Drop the hookah... aus will have 8 flights w/ no chance of any more unless we get a gate that someone else drops... oh yeah the next gates to be built are 5 years away. This is coming from the base manager, Chris. So don't even think it'll be a crew base.

Aus Base

Well like I said it is a rumor, we do have a couple more than 4 daily flights out of AUS coming in May. Maybe we are not crazy like CAL flying 757 into AUS to IAH (I know no parking spots in IAH at night) but still we are increasing and I have heard from a couple of people about AUS being a much bigger city for us then it is now (BTW AUS will services JFK, BOS, FLL, MCO, SFO, and LGB in May so even if we just do one flight a day that is more then 4). The other thing I heard from someone is management (take if for what it is worth) is that they want to exercise all options on the 190 (so 200 of these POS) and only take about 20 more 320s.

All of this is what I have heard and none of it is fact, this is aviation so things change day by day, just like you got hired at CAL with a 2 year upgrade and now it is more like 7-10 depending on your next contract (BTW no hating on CAL just pointing out that the industry can be great one day and bad the next)
