Displacement for Mesa not ASA. MCO sure would make a nice home for the ATR's though. Fly them around FL on all those short hops while hardly burning any gas. Makes you wonder...

Piedmont did it in the 90's and early 2000's with Dash 8 200's. Flights were full, no hub flying so everything was a 15 minute turn with crew meals each day (back when the crew meals were good). Point to Point around the FL market, 90 hr credit lines with 17-18 days off. Those were the days.

It was called the Florida Flying Club back in the day.

Nice not flying in and out of a hub all day.

Then of course we lost it to Mesa also. They brought there 1900's a few Dash's down there and totally screwed up our great operation.

I know that Bahamian Government was happy with there service out to the islands.

(1) ASA isn't stealing anything. Mesa is imploding and can't run a good operation. Delta realized they get what they pay for and is firing them as a result. ASA is simply the replacement, and if history means anything we probably won't be there for long.

Mr Nug that was meant as a joke. every time one regional picks up flying that was covered by another regional. their are headlines on this forum about stealing flying. Your right about Mesa imploding, the only winner is going to be JO, he has already made his money. But if you look at the DOT stats on the Cancellations during the time frame that Delta is going by, Comair's completion factor in JFK was not much better. And ASA out of ATL was worse.

As far as the original post, we are flying well past the 3rd of May. The new line awards just came out last night. The schedules are terribe. im talking 3+hour sits in CVG,JFK,and BNA. There has already been a displacement from MCO to JFK... we are looking at 88 captains in JFK with only 43 lines.

Why dont you blame the correct party?
USAIR!

They will be Free to move about the country, without a Delta gas card.

Comair's trusty Director of OP's "D.S." put out a memo saying that OH's flying is going to increase by 50% in the northeast.

Naw, I will blame Mesa! They stepped up to do the flying cheaper and were awarded it.

All this on the backs of his (JO) Employees who excepted the abuse of low wages and poor working conditions for a chance of a fast upgrade.

So, I blame Mesa!

And I was at ACA for that, and between the fact that United knew that MESA would cut our legs out from under us and also due to our managements pipe dream to start a LCC with CRJ's I ended up on the street....

I'm pretty much wishing Mesa goes down in flames, but JO does fall into a stinkin pile of dung and come out smelling like a rose far to often.

Actually UAL brought in Bain who set "Industry Standard" to Mesa, CHQ, Pinnacle etc. So ACA, I was there, had an uphill battle. Then Bain came out with this "wonderful" contract that I would not wipe my ass with. While ACA and Air Whisky were fighting to keep the quailty high while Mesa, CHQ, Pinnacle, etc where more then happy to get on their knees and blow Tilton for the job.
I hated I lost my job at ACA after all those years but I can say I am happy we did Independence best damn 18 months of my life.
