Here we are approaching the busy summer travel season, and almost every airline that's still around is cutting flights and freezing hiring. I understand all the economics of it, but if this is happening now while approaching the busy season, what kind of craziness is going to take place when things slow down again in the fall?

Assuming of course that oil prices stay where they are or go higher and that the economy continues to muddle along, it may get really, really, ugly.

Right now, it's just really ugly (only one really)

What's the number of that truck driving school?...................................1-800-BIG-RIGS.

Good luck with that. The truck drivers are striking because they can't make money right now either with the fuel prices. Never forget Home Depot. They are always a viable option.

I think that we'll see the discussion turn from cost to revenue. Finally.

Home Depot Job Cuts

HOME DEPOT JOB CUTS Home Depot, the home improvement retailer, may cut as many as 1,000 jobs as it reduces human-resources departments in stores by half to shift more workers to the sales floor. About 2,200 workers were notified of possible changes, and affected full-time employees, less than 1 percent of its work force, can apply for other jobs at the Atlanta-based company, a spokesman said Friday. The job cuts are effective May 1.

Oh, and in the fall it'll get cooler...

We will probably have to sneak across the border to find good jobs. No wonder immigration is down in the US.

I truly believe that the the 'world economy' will keep lowering our standards, and raising other country's until they are par.

The middle class is under attack in the country, and has been for a very long time.
