We are going to update the panel in our comanche and just looking around at all the stuff they have out there.

What would you put in your panel? Budget around 30,000 grand tops.

I was thinking the, GNS430 (used), GDL 49, GTX330 a HSI (used) (I like the EHSI) and a autopilot with alt hold.

I found the CNX80 and MX20 Installed for 20grand. Does the CNX80 have a weather datalink or anything like that for it? Or will a strikefind work on the CNX80?

Anyone seen the EDM900? Ever fly with one?

I would like to hear what you guys like and dont like about some of the avionics out there.

We have both the GNS430a's and the MX20 installed in the 35 I fly. I've never used the CNX80 so I really can't compare the two, but the MX20's a really cool box. If you get lost with that thing, you've got serious problems. The only complaint I have with it is there should only be one button to push to switch between the Wx radar and the map. It's currently a three-button push to get between the two. We don't currently have the WSI set up yet, either.

As far as the 430a's go, I'd love nothing more than to sell you the two we have, but the boss thinks their the neatest thing since sliced bread. I'm sure they'll be fine in a Commanche, but they suck in the learjet.

MX20 will display WSI nexrad. HSI is essential, I think. CNX80 is now being called GNS480. Strike find will work with MX20. However, if you have Nexrad, why would you want to spend the money on strikefind?
