Just returned from there...could not get into the Hilton so stayed at a very nice older hotel called the St Clair at a 60.00 crew rate from San Jose Jet, it was a real bargain. The hotel has a good Italian resturant in it but we ate at a cool Pan Asian restuarant called the E & O Trading company, very good. If you golf there is a nice course named the Ranch a short drive south of town. Also, if you want to drive go over to Half Moon Bay, nice town with fun lodging and a neat resturant named Moss Beach Distillery, right on the ocean...hope this helps and have fun.
A little known SJC trivia item is the 9/11 memorial that is visible from the air when on final for rwy 30L. About GS intercept, look close in on the left side, there is a big cemetary - look in the corner closest to you. There is an outline of an airplane you can see.
If you visit on the ground there are nice plaques and other memorials.
the place is a ghost town after 10pm. you might as well hop a train and a bus and go up to san fran. half moon bay is great. san fran is a great experience and lots to see there. san jose is nothing much. drive over to santa cruz as well as half moon bay
