What the hell is this?

Based upon color and shape depicted in the legend, if it were indeed a star formation it would have been referenced. Most likely superimposed turbulence ticks.

Wish I had a better explantion for ya.
 
I actually have a pic of the original. It's a perfect star. If I could post pics, I'd show you. I tried to replicate it in MS paint and can't.

off to go ask AOPA lol, they will probably be scratching their heads

i'm trying to figure it out also, it can't be the turbulence symbol but its the same color which is odd. I think someone is bored at their job and decided to throw the aviation world for a loop

i think it means that Michigan is Awesome, so it gets a star for the day:beer:
